Bird Bath Recommendations

Bird Bath Recommendations

Hi all, it’s me again! A week ago I had setup a few more feeders to my existing system of Black Sunflower Seeds, whole peanuts and mixed berry suet - Original Post Here.

Prior to adding new feeders, I had some chickadees and red-winged black birds come throughout the day. But, after adding the new feeders and reducing the height of the feeder (I live on 14th level), I have received no visitors! It sucks because I’m on the top floor and I see alot of birds fly 5-10 feet away from my window every 5minutes!

I have added some flowers and I’m currently working on an electric plug-in bird bath fountain as I don’t recieve consistent sun in my balcony.

My guess is since it’s summer, birds have enough food supply and will probably need a bird bath to cool down.

Do you guys have any recommendations for a tall plug-in bird bath? I was thinking of a railing-mounted one but I need something that is very reliable to avoid risking it fall.

P.S. - I live in London, ON, Canada.

New to Bird Feeding - Help Please!

Hello all, I live on 14th floor by a park in London, ON, Canada. I had recently setup a bird feeder with some black sunflower seeds and a mixed berry suet and had some luck with chickadees and red-winged black birds.

Over the weekend, I got a peanut feeder, humming bird feeder and also some more feed - whole peanuts, home made (1:4 humming bird recipe), finch mix and song-bird mix. My setup currently also involves an electric bird bath and I wash this every 2nd day and add cool water throughout the day since it’s hot here.

Due to weight and height of the setup, I moved back the bird feeder as I didn’t want the risk of anything falling on the ground. The birds that used to come here, have stopped coming. Here are some questions I have:

Did I over-do the setup?
Can I add more flowers to attract birds?
Is it the high-rise that’s slowing down the process?

I shall also put some decals on the window today!
Any tips or suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks all in advance!

Cozey Atmosphere Sofa

After going throught so many options for couch, I finally decided to pulled the trigger on Cozey’s Atmosphere - 3 seater (non-storage) with an Ottoman (with storage). For context, I had Structube’s sectional that I bought 5 years ago. It was a cheap and a basic one because I couldn’t bring a bigger couch in my unit due to inadequate access.

I now moved cities and got a bigger apartment, so decided to upgrade the couch. Structube, Ashley’s, Tepperman’s, The Brick, Cozey, Rove Concept’s, Rove Labs - searched for all the possible options in my budget of $3000-$4000. I didn’t realize how difficult it was to find a well priced, medium firm sofa that should last. I looked through a lot of reviews on reddit and Cozey’s Atmosphere had mix opinions - issues with delivery, cushions deflating, etc.

I decided to go to the stored in person and try out but only this one was attractive enough and in my budget. After lots of thinking, I finally pulled the trigger and got extended warrant for $190.

Cost: Three seater with Ottoman in Chenile sage fabric, lumbar supports and extended warranty on cushione, cost $2980.

Delivery: Ordered it last sunday, the following day we receieved the lumbar supports. Ottoman was delivered on Tuesday and the actual sofa arrived on Thursday in 9 boxes. I wasn’t expecting it to arrive this early!

Assembly: I thought this would be an easy assemble but it took two peeople about 2.5hours to unbox, assemble and put it together. They did come with these pieces that hold the sofa together and small circular rubber adhesives that stick under the legs to avoid it from moving often.

Quality: The seats are hollow from the bottom as we got a non-storage option. Fabric is really nice and our cats love it! They don’t scratch the furniture so we should be good. Cushions are firm for now, it’s quiet wide and I love how deep it is. I hope the cushions don’t deflate in the years to come and this couch lasts us atleast 5 years!!

I moved to Northern Ontario for a job during covid and ever since I’ve missed this city. Finally got a good job and now I’m moving back to London🫶

Any advise on which areas are good for renting vs which ones to stay away from?

Any advise / suggestions for restaurants or activities are welcome!

Thanks in advance❤️
