Wild Hunt spell might be broken?

I've been playing as Druid, and casting the wild hunt spell is only spawning in a shitload of animals to my army, it never spawns the spectral wild hunt to go capture stuff for me.

Brennan Lee Mulligan and Matt Mercer have a fantastic short discussion on the concept of Ma (間) or "Negative Space" and how its important to a story. Very good info for aspiring (and accomplished) writers.

So, I've ran into this issue with DotF and a few other progression fantasy novels. Im unsure of how to explain it without providing examples but its almost like the author thinks the readers are just.... going to forget what the characters are capable of?

For example in DotF book 5 chapter 62- Fighting Fate, Zac Makes a fractal blade as long as he is tall. Yeah hes been doing that a while, we know hes capable of way more, so why does the Author feel the need to go - "He was perfectly capable of making it even larger, but he needed to contain the impact to a smaller area."

No shit. We know he can do more. We don't need explained why hes doing it smaller, show us instead. Its constant stuff like that that makes the combat in this series hard for people to push through. im on book 6 now, but I'm literally skimming combat scenes because they are legit filler fluff half the time of reiterating what the main cast is capable of. I dont know why the Author does that, I'm assuming to pad word count, but it really detracts for his otherwise good storytelling.

Does this get better later on in the series or am I going to just need to be reminded of every little thing like I'm an unmedicated cracked out elephant shrew with adhd?

I don't need a high volume of smut as long as its well written and makes sense(i can do even 0 in first book). Emotional investment is best. Humans and human adjacent are fine too, doesn't even need to be Harem tbh, just would like a variety of spice in my junk food okay. I would like it to be actually good writing too. Im trying out Ard's Oath currently but I'm super early in that series. Example story is- Sexy Space Babes, but its not really prog fantasy just scifi.

Hello, I'm recovering from ORIF ankle surgery, looking for some recommendations of characters that deal with some gnarly stuff but come out on top. Harem is okay as long as its well written (anyone have high quality prog-fantasy with smut included? Closest I've read similar to that is "Sexy Space Babes" but thats scifi)

Stories I enjoyed - Cradle, Sky Pride, Immortal Great Souls, Iron Prince , ect ect.

Stories I've tried but really couldn't finish even though I didn't hate them - DCC, chrysalis, Defiance of the Fall (might try again here soon i got to him going off world the first time and stopped) Path of Ascension (dropped during or right after giant fuck off dungeon break with automatons came to life on that backwater planet they went to, might try again) and Path of the Deathless, (stopped right when they went back to the surface / after weird orc cooking side arc thingy...) been reading the genre from the early days so I'm open to anything and everything. Prefer an MC that has to go through some rough stuff but keeps his head up.
