Hey there. I run a podcast on mathematical history (presented in English). I am coming to the end of a series on ancient Indian mathematics (pre-800 CE).
I am becoming more interested in the transition of wisdom from Sanskrit to Arabic to Latin, and then to English; and I would love to talk about this with someone who is an expert.
If anyone would be up for a 60 minute conversation about the words that shape the thoughts of western wisdom from the east - please hit me up.
I would like to ask questions such as:
- why do we use the names for numbers?
- what can we learn about science in an oral tradition?
- what are the biggest legacies of Sanskrit in the west?
Soon I will be starting a series on Chinese maths. So a similar call out for any experts on the linguistics and transfer of language with science.

I am a mathematician with a penchant for games, puzzles and strategies. Zero experience in the world of professional TV/Film.

I have developed a high concept game show format based on principles of Maths, economics, and psychology that is somewhere between the weakest link, taskmaster and the traitors.

I am looking for a format developer to help me take the idea from game engine to something that can be pitched to commissioners.

My main question:

Is there a better way to find people other than trying to connect with folks on LinkedIn that have "format developer" in their job description? (My LinkedIn says "maths teacher" so there is little reason for people to give me a second look)

Is there a space in the industry for people who have (potentially) valuable IP and no initial capital to get their ideas in front of people who can get things started?
​
Or, in the alternative, are ideas cheap and generated so easily, that only industry folks with track records and connections can generate new formats.

Hey folks. I do a podcast on the history of maths. At the moment I am working through Indian mathematicians from Baudhayana forwards.
I have recently published an episode on Pingala, not usually considered a "Mathematician", but I make a strong argument that we should include him in the history of maths.
Anyway, because he was a foundational poet, I decided to write the whole episode in verse (minus the intro).
