How to control bombers?

Hi all, I really can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong here. I’m struggling with getting bombers to attack… just been practicing in skirmish. I started out just trying to do standard right click but the bombers wouldn’t even drop bombs. Then I finally figured out about attack move A + drag circle and it still seems hit or miss whether they drop or not. Then they freakin land in the enemy base and I have to spam right click to wake them up… is there not a way to just have them continuously circle and be aggressive to specific or nonspecific targets?

Getting hit with artillery with jammers?

So I had been attempting the scenario “infantry simulator” but kept losing. One aspect was that the enemy would build artillery and I couldn’t get anything up in time to counter it. But then I saw a guide video and he used radar jammers which I always forget about. So I put some up in the next round, but I was still receiving accurate fire from artillery beyond view.

This happened again later in a skirmish against a hard AI, but I realize there are some other units the ai could’ve been using, whereas in infantry simulator its pawns/grunts only. There wasn’t really an opening for a spy bot to get in though or a builder to make a camera or anything. Am I missing something?

Slower paced multiplayer?

Let’s face it, I’m slow. I’ve tried so many times to get good at rts games over the years and I just hit a hard limit at the noob level. Are there rts games that have some multiplayer scene that are a bit more slow and steady? Not apm intensive, not as much rushing between base/econ and army micro? Maybe real time tactics would fit too

Seasons?

I’ve recently noticed patches referred to as “seasons.” Can we not do that? This game is a gem and born out of genuinely good retro rts gaming that still obviously holds up today, back when they didn’t have that kind of drivel. Why not just focus on making small changes over long periods for a good, balanced game that stands the test of time with predictability and consistency, rather than “seasonal” changes for the sake of change. I wonder if stuff like that is why some of the high level developers quit the team recently…

Seasons is like in the vein of live service slop “seasonal passes,” FOMO tactics, limited events and skins, MtX monetization, all of that crap. Doesn’t belong in this. I hope they don’t go all in on that stuff with the steam release

Supreme commander and ashes of the singularity scale claims?

I always see in old official marketing and present day commentary about these games that the maps are country or continent sized in scale. Am I missing something? Or is this just a huge exaggeration… it seems like the largest official maps in each have the size of a small-medium county or region at best

Interface seems familiar

That semi transparent look and the fonts seem super familiar from something else in the early 2000’s… it’s on the tip of my tongue. Anyone know?

Non fantasy medieval?

Why does it seem there aren’t any non fantasy medieval autobattler games? Or at least not prominent or quality ones that I can find? I feel like if done right, it would be really cool almost an evolution of chess. I like chess because there are no spells or special moves or anything, so all of the depth comes from the limits of the players’ strategic thinking. But it would be fun to think about how to set up and then watch your guys fight, and they could add depth in other aspects of it.

Maybe this already exists and I just can’t find it?
