3 Months Patina On This Key Slip

Simple key cover to stop the key scratching everything else.

Free Leather (UK only)

Anyone want these two pieces? I believe they're around A2 in size, and I'd say just over 1mm in thickness. Looks to be one veg tan top grain, and a chrome tan of some sort with a glaze-like surface.

My new belt

Not sure if I'm allowed to post this here, but here's a shot of my belt. I made it myself and I plan on using it for the next few decades. I don't know how popular older, rugged, patina'd fashion items are nowadays, but, I can't get enough of them. - Clothes and accessories with all their scratches, oxidisation, discoloration, polished spots, dents, holes and stains.

Copper & Oak Bridle Belt

Hi guys, just wanted to share my latest creation - an oak-tanned bridle belt paired with a solid copper roller buckle and handset copper rivets.

I've also included a photo, at the end, of the patina on the copper after just 1 month of daily use.

Currently listed at £195 on my shop, made to order and to specification. Here's the link if you're interested: https://www.mattsleathergoods.com/misc/p/oakandcopperbelt

Cheers!

1 Months Patina

This is my new belt, made from J&FJ Baker oak-tanned bridle, paired with a solid copper roller buckle that's picking up a very interesting layer of oxidation.

E100 Setup

Finally landed on a setup I like for shooting Kodak's E100 colour reversal film.

I knew the stock would be cool, but I didn't realise just how blue. I initially bought an 81b warming filter to try and compensate for this but it just wasn't enough. It was nearly neutral, but still cool. And, I do prefer a warmer look. So, I've now picked up this A80 filter made by Toshiba. The data sheet suggests a similar strength to 81B but it's actually about twice as dense, the perfect amount to get Kodak Gold like warmth on slide film. Only cost me £7 as well.

The viewfinder shorts the battery but thankfully that's an easy fix with some electrical tape. The only issue left are the dodgy shutter speeds now.

As for the strap, it's an Italian bridle leather fixed with copper rivets around optech lug connectors. It has an independent neck pad that is desperately needed to spread the weight of Big Birffa across my shoulder.

A camera strap for a friend

A friend of mine is buying his first proper camera, a Sony A7III to be exact, and I thought it's only right to gift him a camera strap. He likes the slim, vintage style with enough length to wear cross body. 135cm in this case. Just thought I'd share a quick shot of some of the details.

New Anvil and Sets

Recently purchased a length of wrought iron railway from 1974 that has been cleaned up and had it's top surface machined flat. Makes for a fantastic anvil. I've also picked up a couple of new rivet setting tools that were forged here in England. I can't get enough of the look and feel of old and proper tools.

My Last Belt (42")

Hello everyone,

I've been making belts a little while now and I've decided to change a few things around with the design and material selection. So, I'm hoping to sell this last one that I made just for the photographs. It's brand new, 42 inches from buckle to the middle hole, made from Walpiers thickest veg tan shoulder with a solid brass buckle. I normally list these for £110 but I'm happy to let this one go for a little less if anyone is interested.

Also, I'm based in the UK and will ship to any UK address for free.

Cheers guys.

Thoughts on this design?

I like using bi-folds to carry folded cash once, but that requires deeper rear pockets underneath card slots. That's always annoyed me because cards will sit fully underneath them and are hard to get to. So, I just designed rear pockets that are cut away at the edges, allowing it to flex open much further so that I can pinch out of cards and cash more easily. I'm curious as to what you guys think of the function and the looks? Cheers.

Wallets from offcuts

Hello everyone,

I've made a couple of wallets from some offcuts of Badalassi Carlo's waxed leather in the colour Cognac. It's a lighter cut of leather than I'd normally use (about 3oz), and because they're made from offcuts, I've added them to my shop for a little lower of a price.

Cheers!

6 Months Update

Badalassi Carlo Pueblo in the colour Cognac after 6 months of daily use. My wallets tend to patina rather slowly compared to friends of mine, but I'm enjoying each stage a lot.

Horween Reversed Shell Cordovan

Hi everyone. I while back I made some wallets from Horween's Shell Cordovan in the colour Armagnac, and the only one I have left is this reversed 2-pocket bifold. I'm needing to make a bit more space so I've knocked 30 quid of the price if anyone is interested. It was listed at £180, now £150. If you have any questions feel free to comment or message. Cheers!

2 Bridle Cordovan Shell

Hi everyone. I've got these two pieces of Italian bridle shell cordovan that I'm looking to sell. (Unglazed and finished with bridle wax.) They're very waxy, and around 2.5mm or 6oz thick on average.

£110

I've listed them on my shop, but if you're interested and have any questions just send me a message.

Made myself a new cover

Found another excuse to make myself yet another notebook cover for my Midori MD A6 notebook. Thought that black would suit the more formal occasions quite well.

Anyone got any thoughts on these wallets? You can see the front of the left, and the back on the right. They have a single interior pocket, a quick access slot on the back and are made of one piece of shell cordovan.

Only one shell has ever been made in this particular colour by Shinki. I need more...
