Anyone else find it odd how female led superhero movies rarely have love interests?

I saw an interview today with the new Supergirl actress and she bragged about how the film has no love interests as if it were a progressive stance.

I mean no disrespect to the actress I am sure she will do great but it did get me thinking about all the permanently celibate female superheroes in movies and why that's so common.

Kara, Carol, Shuri, Cassie Webb, Post-Joker Harley and none of the Birds of Prey have love interests when male superheroes almost all do. Black Widow has been in 9 movies and only ever briefly dates a guy in one film. (And it's not the film where she is the lead.)

There are obviously exceptions. Wonder Woman obviously has Steve in both her movies. Sersi has Dane. Shang Chi and Sam Wilson have still yet to have a love interest.

But when it comes to almost every other male superhero in movies. Love interests are a huge part of the genre. Yet when it comes to female superheroes it seems there is a big pressure to make them all asexual.

Do they think that being in love makes a woman less strong and progressive but a man being in love is fine? Because that doesn’t seem feminist to me. Many strong real women date and fall in love. I don't think that should take away from them being superheroes and being the focus. It doesn't in other superhero media and it doesn't with guys.

Edit: I completely forgot about the dictator guy in The Suicide Squad (2021). I guess because that plot was played for laughs rather than be a serious love interest.

Also I'm not talking about TV shows. Shows don't seem to have this problem. Wanda is in love with Vision but she's never really the lead until Wandavision which is a show.

Also I'm not saying S:WOT should have a love interest. I don't know the story. It probably doesn't need one. Just commenting on and interesting trend and discussion.

A few questions from the finale

Really enjoyed it. Brilliant show but there were a few things that were kinda glossed over and left me a little confused.

Firstly did Ava have the baby? I swear it isn't referenced at all what happened after the break up. Did she get an abortion or does Niall have 2 kids with women he's not with?

I saw a shot of Ava at the wedding but no kids.

Also when was the wedding. It seems like not much time had passed at all in terms of the characters ages but Ruben is out of prison?

Surely he'd be in a while than for a second serious assault against. Did Niall not have a restraining order? Feels like someone would have called the police on sight of Ruben.

And how did Ruben actually die? They never showed what happened after Niall's death. Did Ruben kill himself or did he just bleed to death?

I may have just missed some of the things so I am hoping one of you would help me out.

Mr Charles is forming the Assassins Guild not the Thunderbolts or the Dark Avengers.

I've seen a lot of people say that the ending of DDBA is implying that Bullseye is gonna join the Thunderbolts or they are gonna make the Dark Avengers but I feel like that's unlikely due to the way the movie was and I don't see a big crossover like that given the Showrunners wanna keep Daredevil's story self contained and not too fantastical. Just using the name "Thunderbolts" again would be too confusing.

We know Bullseye is in the next season and so is Buck Cashman. There is one thing both those guys have in common and that's they are both members of villain team Assassin's Guild. A team of mercenaries. I think this is gonna be how Buck Cashman becomes the villain Bullet through Mr Charles' connections and they could also bring in Lady Bullseye and possibly Ikari. (They seemed to be flying to Asia so maybe some kind of Japenese facility) As the main threat next season Daredevil will be facing a team of Assassins to fight who are all sent to kill off the Defenders.
