Question about Barclays switch

Hi everyone. I completed my switch 2 weeks ago and have just transferred £2,500. How long do I need to keep the money there to qualify for the switching bonus?
I’m planning to open a Chase account and then move all the money to OakNorth to collect all the cash bonuses. 😅💰

Worst company ever

It’s just worst delivery company full of delivery drivers who is totally 🔔ends. Two parcels from different suppliers have been delayed since Monday. They’re out of delivery every day but somehow make it back to the warehouse at the end of the day.

Where should I park £2,500 for the best return?

Hi everyone,
I’ve just moved my £2,500 savings from Tembo to Barclays to complete a bank switch.
Once the switch is finished, I’m wondering where to move the money next. Are there any good sign-up bonuses or savings accounts with a higher AER that you’d recommend?
I know £2,500 isn’t a huge amount, but if there’s a way to make a bit extra from it, I’d love to hear your suggestions.
So far I’ve completed the First direct, NatWest switch and I’m currently doing the Barclays switch.
I was also thinking about things like:
Any bank switches I may have missed.
Regular savers with a high AER (even if they have monthly deposit limits).
Easy-access savings accounts paying a competitive rate.
Cash ISAs if the rates are better than standard savings.
What would you do with £2,500 at the moment?

Tapo cameras and doorbell not loading image

Hi everyone. I own six Tapo cameras and recently purchased a tapo doorbell as well. I even upgraded to faster broadband and got a new hub 5.0 from virgin (UK). Everything was working fine until today.

None of the cameras or the doorbell are loading. I can see the device speeds at the top of the app, but the images won’t load – it’s just the spinning symbol going round and round.

I’ve already restarted the Virgin Hub 5.0 and rebooted all of the devices, but it’s still not working.

Does anyone have any advice? I’m going on holiday soon, and I mainly use the cameras to check on my cats and keep an eye on my car outside. 😅

On hold 4 weeks

I was put on hold 4–5 weeks ago (and now I probably know why — I had a poor 5G connection at the time). I submitted an appeal because I know I wasn’t using a VPN, and iCloud Private Relay was switched off as well. I also had zero rejections.

I completed a survey while my 5G signal was very weak, and about 20–30 minutes later I discovered that my account had been put on hold. I explained the whole situation and submitted an appeal.

I understand that if the hold and appeal lasts longer than four weeks, it’s probably better to forget about Prolific, as there is little or no chance of getting the account restored. Is that correct?

I was surprised to see a study in my native language on Prolific today 📚. I’ve been living in the UK for around 20 years, and I speak four languages—Russian is my native one, but I am not using it every day, then English and Latvian, and I also use Polish with colleagues at work.
Today, while doing this study, I remembered how to type in Russian on my Mac, even though I don’t have Russian letters on the keyboard 😅. It was a bit challenging at first, but it seems like I managed it. I hope they approve my submission 🙈.

Klarna got me with the classic “here’s £10” and I folded immediately.

Used a referral link to sign up for the Klarna Debit card, topped up £15, did 3 x £5 transactions (I bought x3 gift cards from EverUp or TopCashaback, and the £10 cashback landed straight after the third one.

Link if anyone wants to give it a go:

I did 3 Revolut top-ups and that counted for me. The £10 went into Klarna cashback and I could withdraw it straight away.

Even better, once you’re in, you can refer other people and get £40 per successful referral, up to 10.

Best part is I wasn’t even a brand new Klarna customer — I already had the regular credit account, just not the debit card.

Still worked, and then I got another £40 from referring my partner.

Hi everyone,

I’ve only been on Prolific since Friday — I signed up and got approved straight away, without a waiting list. Maybe they need middle-aged men from the UK 😅

But I’ve seen people say they sometimes have 100+ studies available. For me, it’s usually just 1–2 at a time, and the most I’ve seen at once is about 12. I’ve also enabled a Telegram bot and Google Chrome notifications. My “About You” section is 100% complete.

Is this normal for someone who just started?

I haven’t had any rejections yet, although I have a feeling one from yesterday might get rejected — still waiting for approval.
