How to troubleshoot Proxmox "freezing" requiring me to power off/on to fix?

This happens fairly regularly (up to 2-3 times per week). I know about it pretty quickly because I can't go to any websites once my Pi-hole container has gone down.

Once Proxmox "freezes", I can't access it via the web UI and I have to power the server off and back on again to fix. This in itself has caused data corruption issues in the past so I really need to fix this issue.

I know the logs should tell me what I need to know, but I don't really know what to look for. Here is the last few lines of my logfile, presumably this is when Proxmox "froze"?

Jul 03 21:38:58 proxmox pvestatd[1418]: auth key pair too old, rotating..

Jul 04 00:32:06 proxmox pveproxy[635053]: got inotify poll request in wrong process - disabling inotify

Struggling to find a CarPlay compatible player that I like

I'm currently using play:Sub and although it is okay, it is just a little harder to use, IMO, than Spotify. For example, I have two separate music libraries - one for me (heavy metal) and one for the rest of my family (kid's pop crap). If I select my library only and then play random songs, it will also play their music?

Other than that, I just find it very cumbersome to use. I can't really describe why.

I've briefly tried most (all?) of the below free options, but have uninstalled them for one reason or another.

https://www.navidrome.org/apps/?platform=ios&q=carplay

I don't mind paying for a great app, but I'll be disappointed if I don't stick with that either. Narjo comes up frequently.

What else should I try?

Want to branch out from “traditional” deathcore. Can you guys give me some examples of related subgenres?

I.e. slamming deathcore, downtempo/beatdown etc?

Can also be not a direct subgenre of Deathcore, but simply an adjacent subgenres with close ties to Deathcore, i.e. metalcore, slam death metal etc.

Basically I’m just looking to expand my horizons and learn what genres I vibe with.

An an example, I am enjoying the slower pacing of The Last Ten Seconds of Life

Any way to reduce data corruption issues when power fails?

Hi all,

I seem to be having a lot of issues lately with data corruption on the USB drive. The data corruption happens when I have to forcefully reboot the server, or if there is a power issue at my house.

My understanding is that raid will copy the OS into RAM upon every boot, does this mean that any data corruption is just being replicated from the USB drive to RAM?

My current issue is that my docker compose plug-in/app refuses to start. If I check the log, I can see that there is corruption issues reported by “squashfs” on sda.

Are there any settings that I can change to minimise corruption issues with the USB drive? I was hoping there might be a BIOS setting for USB, something that might minimise data loss/corruption, but might have the side effect of slower speeds?

Basic question BUT - How do I tune an EQ for home audio, car audio etc?

I know this is probably a case of “fiddle with it until it sounds good”, but I was hoping I might be able to establish a baseline of sorts, using some objective method, then tweak from there?

Is it possible to run a tone generator for each of the frequency bands on the EQ for example, and then make sure they are all reporting the same dB from iPhone dB app, then tweak from there?

How much difference do speaker baffles make for front 6.5” speakers?

I have some JBL Stage3 component speakers on the way. I will only be running them off my factory head unit, though. I have also bought some Amazon basics sound deadening which I am intending on putting behind the speaker cavity.

I can get some for about $25 USD equivalent, is it worthwhile doing?

Factory HU & no amp - new front speakers - prioritise lower impedance, lower constant RMS or higher sensitivity?

I will be upgrading stock speakers soon. Unfortunately, adding an amp is not really an option as it is a company vehicle (I’m going to do a stealth speaker upgrade :))

Some speakers are 50WRMS, 89db sensitivity and 4ohm whilst others might be 75WRMS, 90db and 3ohm.

Should I prioritising one rating over another?

Hi All,

We will be staying in Osaka for 5 nights, this will be our first trip to Japan and our very first stop once we fly into Japan.

Our kids are 11 and 8.

We want to stay very close to public transport (our kids whinge a lot about walking a lot)

Ideally we want to spend around or under $200 AUD (under $150 USD equivalent)

It would be good to have a laundry and kitchenette in our room.

Any suggestions?
