How early can I drop my bags at Shekou?? Can I drop and go walkabout rather than pay for hotel to keep it

I am flying with Cathay via HKIA but landing in Shenzhen via the Shekou port, and then returning that way. Now when I return, my flight out is at 1155pm, and my ferry is 8pm, but the hotel I check out at will be circa 12pm in central Shenzhen.

I have seen references to being able to drop my bags at the Shekou port say at 2pm, and then just go elsewhere for 4 hours, before I actually need to pass through myself. It just seems very different to what I am used to at airports where I can only bag drop 2-3 hours before the flight.

Can someone validate for me (first time in china). I ask this, as I was even tempting keeping my hotel room for another day, so I can check out at say 5pm instead, but that’s a waste, and if this is an option, then I would rather try

Thank you

Will this get confiscated / how to pack - I take magnesium pills (can buy in any supermarket) as they are a natural remedy for a stress twitch i get

I take magensium pills as advised by a neurologist as a natural remedy for a stress twitch i get in my face. I get the pills in a supermarket, can buy them on amazon etc.

I am just wary if someone will query them in my packed luggage, when i fly to china (shenzhen) later this year. (I fly into hk with Cathay but i am taken straight to ferry without my luggage)

Hope that gives enough info

Thanks

That was the best fucking metal gig i have ever been to last night at Tottenham

Been to a fair few gigs in my time that are quite powerful but fuck me that was insane last night

Seeing the energy, the crowd, the jokes, Serj loving the auduence interaction and the power of the music - was fucking awesome

Nearly looked into Poland this weekend...

Loved it all

Confused by where to stay in Sanya / hainan - seeking location help please as swimming in the sea is a big thing for me and being able to just see clear water

I am planning my trip to Southern China (hk,  macau, sz, gz, yangshuo), and at the end of it, i want to spend 4-5 nights at the sea in Sanya.

I love swimming in the sea but there seem to be a lot of restrictions.

Dadonghai Beach was a choice given its location, but it is highly restricted to swim i read

Yalong Bay seems better fir sea swimming but its not get the access to things around Sanya and main areas and i am watching my budget so wary of not going high end

Sanya bay is more murky water and for my senses it bothers me

Wuzhizhou Island - seems perfect for swimming but its too away from other things?

Sorry if i have stated the obvioys but seeking views on where to stay noting i also want to visit:

-Yanoda Rain Forest Culture Tourist Zone

- Yalong Bay Tropic Paradise Forest Park

- Access to differing food places

Seeking some help please - Confused by HK flight transfers and pricing as a first visit to China..

.Looking for a bit of help / clarity.  I have been looking into my first trip to China and using Shenzhen as a base, as i want to go to HK, Macau, Guilin and other more "rural" and maybe Sanya.

Been flight price navigating and weirdly a direct flight to HK with a package ferry to shenzhen is the best price and its only Trip.com thats selling that.  The direct flight to HK is much more expensive withiut the ferry.  And london to shenzhen involes longer layovers in shanghai with china eastern (read mixed reviews but was willing to go)

Questions:

Assume its all legit but asking anyway as its very odd pricing.

Also, does that mean the entry / exit of immigration is at the ferry?

And they take my bags to the ferry for onward into shenzhen?

Hope that makes sense

Appreciate tips thanks
