Any Graduating JMU Students Getting Rid of a Twin Mattress?

Hey everyone! With JMU graduation this weekend, I figured I’d make a post and see if anyone might be able to help us out.

If any students are moving out and looking to get rid of a clean twin XL or twin mattress, I would gladly take it off your hands for my toddler. We’re also looking for any gently used neutral-colored bedsheets that would fit as well.

I know a lot of people end up needing to downsize quickly after graduation, so I thought it was worth asking before things get tossed or hauled away.

Thank you so much, and congratulations to all the graduates this weekend! 🎓

My neighbor's solution to trash piling up on his porch was moving it to our property line

ETA: I have to mow my yard and the bags are partially on my property and touching our drainage pipe. I’m in Virginia and genuinely wondering if I can legally put gloves on, document everything, and move them a few feet fully back onto their property without it becoming an issue.

As much as I would love to dump it all out onto their yard, I’m not going to create more problems for myself by doing that.

——-

My neighbor has now moved his trash bags directly onto our property line next to our crawlspace drainage pipe after letting them sit rotting on his back porch for over a week.

This is also the same neighbor who let his dogs repeatedly pee in our backyard last summer until it killed a huge patch of grass, takes rocks from our side of the drainage ditch/retention pipe area to line his own garden bed, and constantly leaves cigarette butts blowing into our yard.

And before anyone asks, yes, our HOA is completely useless and does absolutely nothing about any of it.

Just an ongoing masterclass in being an inconsiderate neighbor.

ETA: Even just adding a few delineator posts to prevent people from going ANYWHERE other than turning right would be better than nothing at this point!

I don’t care if this comes across as offensive because at this point I shouldn’t have to worry about getting hit at this intersection every time I am there due to someone not following simple traffic directions.

Lets go back to elementary basics using colors for this post:

🟢 GREEN 🟰 GOOD
🔴 RED 🟰 BAD

I thought that this would be common sense given that there is a right turn arrow painted on the ground in the lane stating that clearly it is a right turn only lane, but evidently that is not the case.

Every single time, and I am not exaggerating, I approach that intersection off of Ridgedale Rd. to turn onto Stone Spring Rd., at LEAST one vehicle disobeys the right turn only coming out of the Walmart Neighborhood Market lot.

Since people apparently can’t follow this simple traffic direction, here are some visuals and some directions on how to properly use that intersection.

  1. When you are coming out of Walmart Neighborhood Market and you need to get to Grassy Creek Rd., it is still a RIGHT TURN ONLY!
  2. When you are coming out of Walmart Neighborhood Market and you need to go left onto Stone Spring Rd., it is still a RIGHT TURN ONLY!
  3. Regardless of where you WANT to go coming out of Walmart Neighborhood Market onto Stone Spring Rd., it is a RIGHT TURN ONLY LANE!!!

There are SO many ways to get in and out of that parking lot, so rather than risking yours and others lives using an intersection incorrectly, utilize one of the other exits and take a couple of extra minutes to get to where you’re trying to go.
