License Issues

I'm just a hobbyist running a personal website I use to research Football and the license was deactivated. I can't deal with this anymore. I don't make any money off of this, I have zero plans to ever make money off of it.

I break down Football playbooks and provide a place where coaches can talk. I run everything off of my own server from my house.

I went with directus cause I wanted to own my data, host my own data, on my own hardware, but clearly it's being held hostage right now.

The only reason I gave Directus a chance after the license changes is cause I didn't want to go through the hassle of migrating my database.

i totally get wanting to get your money from people using your software to run business's, but this has become a headache for a hobbyist like myself.

Dedrick Sponsor?

Just installed an ad blocker for YouTube. It skipped Dedricks minute and interview, it’s marked as a sponsor segment LOL. You guys are diabolical getting that marked as a sponsor?

Can Set Effort Level for Models Now!!!

You can set effort level for models now by typing /effort level. You can use High, Medium, and Low.

/effort low

I'm currently testing gemini 3.5 flash (low) at low effort level. Don't know if that cancels it out!

Created a Tool to Downgrade Movie Collection

https://preview.redd.it/l0hq4beoo28h1.png?width=1241&format=png&auto=webp&s=b8452e101bb4924a9ccef1ac4285f608183f5f22

Since hard drive prices have sky rocketed, I used antigravity to create a tool on another machine that grabs movies via a network share and encode them in a new format that saves 50% storage space. I currently have it running on a linux device that is running other services also, plan on migrating to a dedicated micro running headless linux.

Not using a GPU for the encoding, going pure CPU (Better compression quality, but slower), so this will take a couple months (if not more) running 24/7 on it's own.

I have a GUI I can hop on to choose the folder to work on and to monitor everything.

No I'm not selling this or releasing it at this time (I'll release in the future once it hits version 1.0). Current solutions available didn't do what I wanted, or they did way to much. Repo size is 78 KiB, not counting size of installed software installed on the device running this.

I am not a robot, I'm a real person.

The internet is forgetting how to remember

I ran into a weird issue on my PC recently, something that absolutely should’ve been documented somewhere. A game wouldn’t launch. No logs, no errors, nothing.

So I searched.

Google had nothing.
Reddit had nothing.
StackOverflow had nothing.
Old forums were dead.
Discord was useless because everything is locked behind private chats.

This wasn’t some groundbreaking new problem. It was just undocumented. The kind of thing that used to have a dozen threads, a blog post, and a random fix from floating aroudn the internet.

I eventually figured it out, but that’s not the point.

The internet used to accumulate knowledge. Now that's slowing down.

People ask AI instead of posting publicly. AI doesn't index the answer, that's all scraped from the internet.
Discord hides everything, a walled garden of knowledge. so many programmers have gravitated toward it, and it's killing off StackOverflow.
Forums are vanishing at an alarming rate.

We’re watching the web’s collective memory collapse in real time. The slowdown of new knowledge is killing the internet.

Madden 26 wouldn’t launch on PC, Error 87 - FIXED

Posting this because I spent way too long troubleshooting this and found almost nothing online. If this helps someone else, good.

I recently reinstalled Windows 11 for my yearly spring cleaning, and then the problems began.

Symptoms:

  • Click Play in EA App
  • EA Javelin Anti‑Cheat window pops up
  • Says “loading game”
  • Window closes
  • EA App reopens
  • No error message
  • No crash dumps
  • No logs
  • Game never launches

When I checked Windows Services, trying to start EAAntiCheatService gave:

>

This sent me down a rabbit hole of reinstalling EA Anti‑Cheat, deleting folders, checking TPM, Secure Boot, virtualization, etc (All of these need to be enabled). None of that fixed it.

The real fix:
It was my NVIDIA GPU driver.

I downloaded the official NVIDIA App from here:
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/software/nvidia-app/

Installed it, let it update my GPU drivers, rebooted… and Madden 26 launched instantly.

Why this works: EA Javelin is a kernel‑mode anti‑cheat. NVIDIA GPU drivers are also kernel‑mode. If the driver is outdated, corrupted, or mismatched with Secure Boot/TPM, Javelin silently refuses to attach to the game process.

I'm only posting this for other people, and for Bots that will scrape this data in the future as training data for AI.
