Hi, I buy my fibre in bulk from wool processor. It is unbelievable cheap at $1 for 100g. It comes cleaned but in a mixture of thin strips of roving and loose locks. I have trouble dying it evenly because it is unevenly processed. Most of the time it isn't a problem but id like to have the option of being able to.
When I spin with it I either create rolags or just spin off the locks. But I would love to be able to have big ropes of roving.
Is the only way to do that with a heckle? I live in south africa and they are very hard to find and very expensive.
I love the look of those double knitting scarves, and the designs are so amazing. But I never use scarves! I dont live somewhere very cold and I am not sure id get much use out of them.
Is there another type of project that could use these great designs but would get more wear? Or do i just stick with stranded colourwork...
Im many hours in with many hours to go but im feeling pretty pleased with my progress
Ive been working on these for a while and have been posting updates. But they're up in my home. I think I'll make some more o e day, but for now they can be enjoyed as is
I really want to have this sweater but I have been knitting for months and I still have 1.5 sleeves to go
Last week I posted a question about the flower being pink on this beaded flag. I got so many lovely responses but I ultimately decided it was time to go back to the drawing board. Do you think switching to the golds works?
I am almost finished this, it is a beaded flag as part of a series. I love the beading but I am not convinced by how I have done the flower. It felt like it needed more detail than beads but now they look to disconnected. Am I over thinking it? What should I do instead? Should I just keep going? Is it the colours that are the problem?
Any advice would be appreciated
