Accuracy of Galileo Thermometer?

Accuracy of Galileo Thermometer?

Hi all! I'm considering buying a Galileo Thermometer off Facebook or Amazon since I homeschool my kids. I realize they aren't perfectly accurate, but it's more for the fun of it and to have something tangible to teach with.

I'm finding mixed info online about them getting "messed up" and how sunlight or temperature changes (being by a radiator or somewhere drafty) can affect them.

My question is, if I buy a used one on Facebook, is that something to be worried about? Can it be "reset" for lack of a better word? (as long as none of the glass inside is cracked or leaking, obviously) Are there the same concerns with Amazon carelessly packing and shipping it? I just don't want to spend money on the possibility of teaching my kids with something that's not working properly.

Thanks!

Costco, Meijer or Other Cake?

Inspired by the other cake post...

My family LOVES Costco cake, so if we're not making a cake ourselves, they want Costco. I agree that it tastes amazing, but you can't customize much.

Do those cute Meijer cakes taste as great as Costco? Or is there another bakery (that isn't crazy expensive) that compares or tastes better?

Place to Buy MI Rice?

Looking for a place to buy locally grown, traditional "heritage"-type rice. Like the kind Indigenous people would have grown here. Is there any place in or near GR that sells it?

Bio Parent's Death Certificate

Hi all, looking for knowledge or advice. I finally got my birth certificate with my bio Mom's name on it. However, because of state laws (in the US), it's an "unofficial" certificate. I know that she has passed away, but I don't know why and am trying to get her death records. I have all the info needed to request a death certificate through Vital Check, but I'm worried I'll be denied because I was given up for adoption at about a month old and I'm not sure how the records work.

I called Vital Check but they were unable to answer my question. My bio mom was born in a different state than I was, and also died in a different state (so 3 states involved).

Do I keep trying to call various offices in all 3 states? Or would you just submit a request through Vital Check and cross your fingers that you don't lose your money?

I haven't made contact with any of my bio family and I'm not ready yet, so I can't ask them. Her obituary online is very short and vague. I also searched local newspapers for reports of accidents, etc and haven't found anything.

Kirkland/Costco Sheets Question

Hi all! I've been going through the bedsheet recs and I see that Costco comes up a lot. But when I look on their app for sheets I don't see any Kirkland brand?

Is the Hotel Signature Brand a Costco brand? Or are they only sold some of the time?

Thanks!

Magnesium Threonate or Glycinate in Small Pills?

Hi all! I recently started taking Mag L-Threonate before bed and it has been a game changer and drastically improved my sleep. (AuDHD in perimenopause with decades of crap sleep).

I'm taking Sports Research brand from Costco, and would like my teen to try it. Problem is, the pills are a bit large for them (autistic sensory challenges).

Is there a brand y'all can recommend that's quality but also smaller sized pills? Also willing to try Mag Glycinate if the quality and size are good.
