Accuracy of Galileo Thermometer?
Hi all! I'm considering buying a Galileo Thermometer off Facebook or Amazon since I homeschool my kids. I realize they aren't perfectly accurate, but it's more for the fun of it and to have something tangible to teach with.
I'm finding mixed info online about them getting "messed up" and how sunlight or temperature changes (being by a radiator or somewhere drafty) can affect them.
My question is, if I buy a used one on Facebook, is that something to be worried about? Can it be "reset" for lack of a better word? (as long as none of the glass inside is cracked or leaking, obviously) Are there the same concerns with Amazon carelessly packing and shipping it? I just don't want to spend money on the possibility of teaching my kids with something that's not working properly.
Thanks!
