Hi everyone,

I built a language game where you learn words through physical gestures. For example, you tilt your phone to learn the word for "drink", smile at the camera for "happy", shake your phone to learn "no", and so on. The gestures and vocabulary are embedded in cinematic stories that makes learning new words fun and interactive.

I got tired of language learning apps feeling like homework, so I decided to try out something totally different. Instead of reading or tapping, you do something physical with your phone that matches the word's meaning. Tilt your phone to drink to learn the word for "drink" in the target language, shake it for "no", smile at the camera for "happy", turn the brightness down for "dark", and so on. It's not only fun, but also grounded in science. The idea is that tying words to body movements improves retention.

The app contains two modes: story mode where words and interactions are immersed in narratives, and a focused training mode for quick practice.

Sensonym is a vocabulary learning app with a different approach. Instead of typing or tapping flashcards, you do something physical with your phone that matches the word's meaning. Tilt your phone to drink for "beber", shake it for "no", smile at the camera for "feliz", turn your brightness down for "oscuro, and so on". Based on embodied cognition research, the idea is that physically acting out a word improves retention.

The app contains two modes: story mode where words and interactions are immersed in narratives, and a focused training mode for quick practice.
