as your resident wick wish evangelist and enthusiast, i just wanted to pop by and share some exciting wick wish news!!

first, rollerballs are available!! these are now an option on the regular open-mouthed 8ml bottles and now perfume samples and rollerballs are available on individual perfume oil listings in a dropdown menu. scents are being updated with the changes so some may be missing from the site right now but i already see some back that weren't there earlier this afternoon! i do love the flush look of the open-mouthed caps but prefer rollerballs for pretty much all other brands for application, so i'm excited to try this out! i ordered one to test out for an upcoming trip i'll be going on in september. the rollerballs will ship with the flush lids to prevent leaks so if you select the rollerballs (which have a slight increase in price) you'll actually get both application options! it looks like you'd just pop it into the opening once it arrives to you. (fwiw, i find the wick wish bottles' openings so narrow that i don't have any fear of spilling or anything, unlike bpal or similar brands with the much wider openings)

and second, wick wish has an official author collaboration with alexandra bracken for her new novel immortal rose, which is out as of today! there are two officially licensed perfume oils based on the characters in the book, viola lockwood and hugh thornton, and they both have the rollerball option available on the listings (as well as samples) and it says they're available through mid-2027 so not limited edition or anything! they also ship in a cute house of rosebourne perfumery-branded box instead of the standard perfume oil box (i assume this is related to the book, i'm excited to read it! my preorder arrived today!!). obviously i also ordered both of these to try out lol. viola sounds especially gorgeous!!

finally, there looks to be a small autumn preview of returning wax melts up on the site (under "autumn shop") and it sounds like the autumn collection will be launching as a non-preorder in september!!

wick wish is launching a small late summer collection tomorrow at 3pm PT/5pm CT/6pm ET!

this one will include a trio of new perfume oils (pictured), a few new wax melts, and a few returning candles and perfume oils! then it'll be onto the big autumn collection preorder!!

i'm so excited and this was a total surprise since i thought wick wish wasn't doing a summer collection at all with rachel's wedding this july! cloudbusting is my favorite kate bush song so that perfume oil is calling my NAME!!! also intrigued by rosalind but since there's only three of course i'm gonna have to try them all lol. also really looking forward to the east of eden and ferngully wax melts! and obviously cannot wait to see what's in store for autumn, which is always the biggest collection of the year!

in their email newsletter yesterday, they also gave a link for autumn and halloween requests and teased another author collaboration coming mid-august in addition to the one for autumn krause's upcoming book, the gods will sing our song! i cannot wait for that book and the perfume oil, both releasing on september 1st.

hi all! i've never purchased indie nail polish before but i am striking out with the major brands re: searching for a nice butter yellow color so i come to you looking for recs!

i'm looking for something like this olive & june shade, let's hit the drive thru (which they said has no planned restock date, same with sunny which i also really like). my bestie painted my nails last night with essie's all fun and games that i got at the store and the warmth is right, but it's not quite as pastel as i'd like and the texture got really tacky/goopy quickly which was annoying. i have opi's sunny bunny to try out but haven't had a chance to actually use it yet and in person it seems a bit cooler toned. i just want a warm, pastel yellow (regular shine/non metallic or pearly or anything...idk the terminology! but like these linked examples) that doesn't get tacky quickly or require tons of layers to become opaque!

for transparency as well i am a total novice when it comes to painting my own nails. i usually bring my own color (usually olive & june which tends to last longest on me) to the salon so i can touch it up myself when it starts to chip lol. i didn't have a butter yellow last time i went and got stuck with what looked like a pastel peachy orange but ended up being neon LOL, so my bestie who does her own nails all the time kindly offered to redo it for me after i got fed up with the orange and took it off the other day, and we decided to try the essie first between that and the opi one i got at the store. i am not gentle with my nails at all and tend to wear them pretty short. but i am craving this butter yellow color after i started allowing myself to wear yellow again (once i went blonde several years ago i forbade myself from wearing it and only now have i started welcoming it back into my wardrobe lol). also i am reading the unicron hunters rn and there's a cat named butter in the book so it's just top of mind hahaha. please LMK what recs you may have!! thank you!!

when I was a kid, probably early middle school-ish or just before, around 2005-2007 or so, my family had a landline phone that was either vtech or AT&T and we set the ringtone to what I later found out was a version of the song “in the hall of the mountain king.” I cannot find any recording of this ringtone ANYWHERE nor can I even figure out what phone model this was!! the handheld landline phone had a matte, non-shiny coating(? maybe a better term) and the part you heard out of was a little circle like on this phone: https://imgur.com/a/lx80e4S except the top of the phone was also rounded, not square. ours was a white handset, I am not sure if there were other colors. I know we also had this one https://imgur.com/a/Y48ZzVQ at some point, although it did not have the mountain king ringtone when I found a video on YouTube of all the options.
I distinctly remember the ringtone being this song and my brother and I thinking as kids that it sounded halloween-y and we were shocked and delighted that our parents let us keep that as the ringtone. I am almost positive it was an option on the matte, rounded phone we had and I am pretty sure it came earlier than the EL52119 in the second photo link.
nowadays my parents are in their early 70s and do not remember this ringtone at ALL though and since I can’t even find the phone model I feel like I’m going bonkers. please help!!! I am dying to hear this ringtone another time. I don’t even really care about the phone model, I just want a recording of the ringtone to show my family and jog their memory (also to listen to from time to time lol). does anyone else remember this? do you know what phone model I’m talking about? can you help me so I can solve this mystery after literal years of on-and-off searching? :’) thanks all!!!

ran into another frustrating work situation and i want to have a conversation with my boss about it. the basis of the conversation is how i feel left in the dark and excluded from conversations especially regarding the direction of our team and that my perspective isn't valued, especially as the second-longest-standing team member aside from her. however, we are off work friday and monday and i am out the rest of next week on a trip, so i'm trying to figure out timing as i already dislike that i'll be gone for so long after bringing this conversation up whether it be today or tomorrow, but i also don't want to let these feelings simmer the whole time i'm on the trip since i know it'll be distracting in the back of my mind the whole time.

for the first card, i asked if i should bring up my frustrations and feelings today and got the hierophant. i was feeling unsure about this and wanted some clarity so pulled a second card, asking if tomorrow would be better to have this conversation and got king of wands. pulling this card is making me lean towards having this conversation tomorrow, but i wanted others' perspectives as i'm still feeling a bit uncertain.
