How to Hunt for the Ring as Mordor?

I've started my first Dawnless Days campaign recently. I was playing Mordor and doing alright against Gondor. But I don't really understand the hunt for the ring mechanics. The first mission I got was asking me to pillage, loot, or raze a ton of settlements hoping that the ring was there, but there's no way of realistically getting an army up there without abandoning crucial areas like arnor.

So I'm wondering how the mechanic actually works. Do I, as Mordor, have to personally pillage my way through basically all of the north, or does it also work if Isengard, Dol Guldur, etc. take those settlements? Having to do it all by myself feels like a rather weird mechanic.

Hopefully someone can explain how it is actually supposed to work.

Firstborn DC bits on primaris

Hi!

I may be able to get my hands on some old death company. I'd like to use them for bits and put them on primaris sized marines, but I'm worried that it may end up looking weird. I'd guess the heads and backpacks would be fine, but I'm quite worried about the arms and weapons. Would they end up looking shorter/unproportional?

5th company sergeant marking in the Armageddon box models

I've always wondered how the blood drop for the 5th company sergeants is supposed to work since it'd be black on black. I've always just put some white paint on the back of my decal for a white rim around it. But when looking at the art for the new Armageddon box painted marines on Warhammer community I've seen the intercessor sergeant with a gold drop on black. The rest of the squad has the standard black drop of the 5th. Is this standard for all sergeants now, is it just a 5th company thing, or do we just not know? Making it the rule for sergeants would make the most sense lore-wise, but it'd make next to no sense in terms of heraldry, so I don't know what to make of it.

Good beginner factions

Hi! I'm trying to get into anbennar but it's so massive and I don't know where to start. I've got some experience in vanilla EU4 and I've played a few campaigns to 1700-ish. I've got most of the basic concepts down, but I wouldn't call myself good or even intermediate by any stretch.

I like anbennar because I really love the setting. To start out I'm looking for a faction that feels like eu4 but fantasy, so no crazy stuff like dwarves yet. Bonus points if it's got cool lore.

I hope I can get some good recommendations for where I'm at,

Looking forward to what everyone has to say!
