Help with our new schnoodle!

We pick him up in a few weeks (just under 5 weeks in this photo). He’s an f1b schnoodle as my bf has allergies but he seemed ok with him 🥰

However we are disagreeing on the name. I like Monty but he likes one syllable names. We thought of Nix and Rex but I’m not sold!

Let me know 😀

Skin biting

Hey everyone!

I’m wondering if anyone can relate and overcame something similar.
For a long time I’ve bitten my nails but more specifically the skin round my nails. So even when my nails look ok like in summer, I bite round the edge and then nibble on the skin on one of my bottom teeth, which is a bit worn down now.

Asides from the ugly fingers, my dentist believes it’s the cause of my tmj (not the dodgy brace I had).
I’m determined to fix this habit, but, I know after being recently diagnosed, this is more than anxiety and likely a stim.

I’m seeking a calmer life but after many changes, it won’t come fast.
There is a lot of talk about getting manicures and getting gloves but asides from manicures being pricey, I think if it’s a stim, removing and not replacing could lead to worsening overstimulation.

Any recs?

I tried a chewable necklace but it was thick, got slobbery (sorry tmi) and didn’t give me the “nibbling” I enjoy.

Looking for any sustainable recommendations. I have had phases like a few months where I don’t bite but when life stress increases, there is not much chance of nice fingers.

Thanks in advance :)

Has anyone here had the copper iud?
I had it and although it’s labelled as non-hormonal, it must secondarily impact them as my periods changed (weirdly for me much lighter and blacker).
Since removing my copper IUD my PMDD has come back worse. Not right away, I’m heading into month 6 and it’s like the old days of hell. I guess I didn’t feel relief with the iud because we all like to forget we have it else we would live in insane fear with how awful it is (I do still preach it on good weeks but more objectively). Also I was going through crazy work stress / trauma and having to survive that I wasn’t happy but it was more like constant flatness / downess. But I do think it helped my pmdd?!?!?
Didn’t enjoy my periods changing and I got melasma too which may be from it. But also my boobs didn’t swell as much on the coil. A cold hard reminder this month of how awkward and swollen they get.
Anyone else?
Also weirdly (self diagnoses adhd and officially diagnosed autism) my adhd was worse on the coil?! Apart from the pmdd time I can concentrate slightly better with it gone. I say slightly - I am rubbish all the time tbh.

Anyone maybe wanna explain the science or just give me some advice on how to manage pmdd again?

Been on fluoxetine 3 years solid (20mg now down to 10mg last 6 months) and on and off before that depending on life stress. I’m a bit more stable personal wise so I want to float taking it just on pmdd coz I really don’t think I have depression (just everything else 😭). Fluoxetine has a long half life - I tried citalopram 6 months ago when the iud came out coz I still somewhat suffered pmdd or knew it was there and the GP said it’s a short half life. Anyway I couldn’t ride it out. 3 weeks of nausea I couldn’t take it anymore. So back to fluoxetine.

I also supplement iron and zinc with all the usual advice on how to take it. Iron has always been quite low (worse on coil) even though I eat red meat and a balanced diet. Can’t really be bothered with anymore diet and wellness advice, I’m trying but life’s busy and I can only do so much and I love exercise anyway.

Thanks for letting me ramble. My bf has only seen me on the iud so it’s a bit lonely where I am right now! X
