Did anyone have their MHE $20.64 lottery tix emailed to them?

Hi, just trying to learn if they still only let you pick these up at the box office? Telecharge cs told my yesterday that they email, but he refused to distinguish between the cheaper lottery and the regular ($49?) one. So I didn't believe him, -- I trust those who have had ACTUAL experience more. Thanks!

Women, how would you react to this?

Scenario: I took a long break from the apps. But just came into an extra Broadway Show ticket. Show is Tomorrow night, so not a lot of advanced notice. I get that.

If a guy you matched with, let’s say nine months ago, but you never chatted with, if they reached out and explained that they had taken a break and only came back to the app this week and noticed you matched, and asked if you would like to go to the Broadway show… Yes, even having never chatted just because time is the essence And if you turn it down, he can offer the ticket to someone else… How would you feel about that offer… I mean he’s not holding a gun to your head, you can say no or you can say yes. But what does your take on that?

  1. Would you be thrilled that someone you matched with was bold enough to ask you out to a Broadway show? (would it matter which show? Let’s say it’s one of the more popular ones and actually not easy to get a ticket too…)
  2. Would you think that was too outrageous and immediately be turned off?

Would you be flattered but suggest a simple date another time or rather to chat first but not go on this date? Really appreciate y’all’s insights!! 💕

couple of questions about the lottery pls

astonishingly won the $20.64 lottery today, but ended up not buying because I had put in for two tickets, but couldn’t find a friend to go and usually I would put up the second ticket on THEATR but my understanding is that these are box office pick up only. And if I wanted to sell two tickets, then I would have no way of doing that. I called customer service from Telecharge charge and asked if they email these and the rep said he had to check and came back to the phone and said yes, all tickets are emailed. But other threads online suggested that these specific tickets can only be picked up at the box office. Other people said maybe the policy changed in recent weeks. Someone recommended that I come to this sub to ask! 😙

So Asking, does anyone know their current policy for these specific tickets for June/July 2026? I am wording it like that as maybe their policy changed since first offering. Secondly, I know they advertised that they only give premium Orchestra and MS tickets but recent threads elsewhere suggested that’s not actually true and that, some people said it wasn’t worth them charging any money because they could not see any of the show that their seats were so incredibly obstructed. How typical does that happen?

even though I gave up the tickets, any insights would still be appreciated. Also, how incredibly difficult is it to win these tickets; I suspect I’ll never win again. 😔

can I get discount tickets for tonight if TKTS online shuts off ordering?

looking for ticket to a show tonight. Thought maybe Oliver but TKTS took it down. Does it usually take it down an hour before a show and if I go to the box office do you think they would honor the discount price? Advice?

Any other quintessentially British show/in London, I should see? only here a short time… I saw a witness to the prosecution and I saw a mouse trap elsewhere years ago so something else? also saw operation mincemeat in New York.

Y’all, was I right to be unsettled about this?

Seeking education, not insults. This is what happened, and I'm trying to understand whether I'm interpreting it correctly.

I went to a brewery in New Jersey today. The place was busy, with several groups of customers. The host for my party told us we could go up to the bar and order whatever we wanted.

I'm not really a bar person. I'll have the occasional glass of wine at a restaurant, and I've ordered drinks at weddings and other events, but I've never fully understood the protocol at a crowded bar. It's not like a bakery where you take a number, and it's not like a line where everyone waits their turn. As someone who is fairly introverted, I've always found it a little intimidating. It sometimes feels like the loudest, tallest, or most assertive or attractive (?) people have an advantage when it comes to getting served, while (shorter? less attractive?) quieter people can easily get overlooked. I mean, you could look like Quasimoto at a bakery or deli and still get waited on at your turn to place an order. Bars don’t appear to be as equal opportunity places unless I am just not understanding the protocol of how to order?? I occasionally stand patiently for several minutes, hoping to catch someone’s attention, only to see other people somehow squeeze in front of me or near me and manage to place an order before me.

Anyway, as I approached the bar, I noticed there appeared to be only one employee working behind it. He was looking down at his phone and typing. I stood there assuming he'd look up in a moment. Five seconds passed. Then ten. Then fifteen. He never made eye contact, never acknowledged me, never held up a finger to indicate he'd be right with me. After about twenty seconds, I politely asked whether I could order a drink when he was finished texting.

My first question is: how common or acceptable is that? Was I being unreasonable, or would most bartenders consider that unprofessional?

The bigger question is about something that happened later.

I went back and asked about a sweet cider that was being advertised. They told me they were out of that one but had another cider that contained jalapeño. Since I'm not really into spicy drinks, I asked whether it was very spicy. The bartender offered me a sample, which seemed perfectly reasonable, and I thanked him.

The bar had a lot of merchandise and other items displayed around it, which made it somewhat difficult to clearly see everything happening behind the counter. While waiting for the sample, I noticed what appeared to be a large tray of clean looking glasses sitting behind the bar, with several rows of glasses lined up together on it.

But what caught my attention was that he didn't seem to take one of those glasses. Instead, he reached somewhere below the counter, grabbed a different glass, and gave it what looked to me like a very quick rinse - maybe a second or two - before pouring the sample.

I want to emphasize that I couldn't see perfectly. My view was partially blocked, and it's entirely possible I misunderstood what I was looking at.

What I'm trying to understand is whether there are legitimate reasons a bartender would quickly rinse a glass before pouring a sample. Is that commonly done with clean glassware? Could he have been preparing the glass in some way that I'm unfamiliar with? Or is there another standard practice that would explain what I observed?

I was just wondering if he just used the single sample glass that he “rinsed” (if you can even call it that?) between customers who he offered samples to, but didn’t really clean?? I did notice there were droplets on the glass as he watched me, and I felt like I had to take a sip to let him know if I wanted to order it or not… but I feel unsettled about it the entire night. There was a lot of people in that bar, but a lot of germs and not sure why you would do it two second rinse on a glass before pouring cider into it?!

I'm not looking to accuse anyone of anything. I'm genuinely trying to understand what most likely happened from the perspective of people who work behind a bar every day.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Is it this a new phenomenon?

So I’ve seen my share of shows over the years. I wouldn’t say I was the largest theatergoer, but I’ve seen enough (I think?) to recognize an anomaly tonight. Or was it an anomaly? Or is this the new trend?

I went to see Ragtime. They did the opening number and yes, it was wonderful, but it was exactly as expected. And the audience erupted. I mean, I can’t recall a more enthusiastic audience, seeing a show before. They went absolutely nuts and immediately gave a standing ovation. The people I was with as well as myself were kind of stunned. Why were they doing an ovation this early in the production?

In my experience, it’s saved for the end of the show, and I suppose there’s once in a blue moon extraordinary examples, but this was out of the ordinary to me. But it didn’t just stop there. I think there were at least two, maybe three more ovations before the end at various parts. When mother did the solo, yes, she is an extraordinary singer and actress… But at first I would say maybe 10% of the audience stood up. But gradually more people decided to stand, and she was just poised standing on center stage. I’d say at some point maybe 50 to 60% of the audience was actually standing and she kept staying poised. At this point it was almost comical how long she was standing as if she was waiting for the rest of the audience to give her the same ovation.

Again, I’m not trying to take anything away from the performers. They were all extraordinary singers and performers. There’s zero doubt about that. The two people I went with, didn’t actually thoroughly enjoy the show as others did. They could not identify with the characters, but they still acknowledged the talent of the performers. Nonetheless, all of us were stunned by the number of mid-show standing ovation. And I was just wondering, is this a new phenomenon, or have I just been living under a rock, lol?

I thought long and hard about the other dozen or so productions I’ve seen over the last nine months, and I can only recall one other instance where there was innovation mid show.

So, how common is this exactly, or his Ragtime just unusual in this regard? What other shows have you experienced where there’s been a number of mid show ovations?

I will also applaud the audience. You read so much on here about disrespectful audience members people with their phones on the whole time or singing out loud, etc. Thankfully, other than one lady who decided to open a candy wrapper during one of the duets which amazed me… (Like why not just wait until they do the applause or wait until a more raucous scene?)… but other than that which I found more comical than annoying, you could almost hear a pin drop during most of the solos, barely a cough or two but mostly up completely captured and silent audience from my seat. I’m sure maybe somewhere somebody was disturbing someone that I wasn’t privy to, but from my vantage point it seemed like a very respectful audience.

Now, while I’m commenting, I will say that the line to the ladies room was the most bizarre I have ever seen in my life.

Instead of just letting people lineup normally they decided to snake people like a bank teller, but in a really weird way so it’s snaked around two or three times and then climbed up a set of stairs and then back down the steps.

Very bizarre and worse about 30 women were still in line when the show was about to start, which my sister thought was ridiculous. Has any women experienced this?

I think they should’ve delayed the intermission an extra five minutes to ensure there was enough time for every woman to go to the bathroom. I mean, it wasn’t like it was just one or two women left in line; there was a couple of dozen at least. I understand that every show can’t build extra restrooms, but there’s no reason why they can’t make intermission a little bit longer to allow for every person who needs to relieve themselves to do so, especially for a nearly 3 hour show!!

Special request for Ragtime - please see my comment about WHY I am seeking

I HAVE tickets to see it, at Lincoln Center, bought for my mom for Mother's Day gift, but sadly my mom has ADHD/early Alzheimer's so trying to get a version she could view BEFORE going to the show. She said she saw it DECADES ago, but hardly remembers it. It would help us a lot to view before we go to see in person. Unfortunately, I don't have anything to share back right now, other than a word of huge gratitude, but could someone KINDLY share with me? Feel free to dm. It can be any version, with any actress, from any performance - any theater - any time period. Honestly, just trying to give my mom (and myself) a good sense of the plot and songs prior to seeing in person. Thanks sooo much!

Title is self-explanatory -- recommend or not to someone with NO IDEA what this show is or its references?

I’m trying to help my elderly parents and honestly feel overwhelmed and lost at this point.

I objectively have a very, very strong case. I have such a strong case that I can’t wrap my head around how any human could’ve denied it. Yes, I get there’s legal language. Yes, I get that. You have to meet this Medicare standards. I did all that I even used the case of Jimmo v. Sebelius (2013), a landmark Medicare settlement.

I did everything in my power to prove the case with fax and not fluff. Doctors letters. Citations. I still lost. I despise the system, but I need someone who knows how to win against it. And that somebody is somebody that actually has experience in winning Medicare appeals at the ALJ level.

if I can’t find someone, I’ll have to go up against the judge on my own, but I really don’t want to do that. Can anyone who has navigated, especially if you have done it successfully, offer any advice of any kind. My sifting through 4000 pages of clinical note to pull up another citation is apparently not going to be helpful from everything I read. What else can I do at this point??? Pretty desperate & grateful for any help. 💕 Ty

I’m trying to help my elderly parents and honestly feel overwhelmed and lost at this point.

My mother suffered multiple major injuries after a fall, including fractures to her spine/back, sacrum, and dominant wrist. She had a dramatic decline from baseline function and required significant assistance and ongoing rehab/skilled nursing care.

I truly believed we had a very strong Medicare appeal. Multiple physicians — including specialists and treating facility doctors — explicitly stated she was not safe for discharge to a lower level of care. They even used Medicare-specific language, including that ambulation alone does not equal safe functional independence, and that walking a certain distance did not mean she could safely return home.

I spent the last 60 days almost nonstop building the appeal:

physician statements

therapy and nursing documentation

clinical citations

medication titration records

charts and timelines

evidence of ongoing pain, instability, and safety risks

We even paid privately for an additional three weeks after coverage ended because she still was not safe to return home. During that time she was still undergoing opioid and nerve-pain medication adjustments and continued to require substantial assistance.

Despite all of that, we lost both the first and second Medicare appeal levels.

At this point the case is headed to the ALJ (judge) level, and I’ve realized I need an attorney who truly understands Medicare SNF appeals and can synthesize the evidence into the type of argument that actually succeeds before a judge.

I have the documentation and evidence organized and ready to hand over — I just need the right person to help present it effectively.

If anyone has recommendations for attorneys (even outside my state if they handle these remotely), or advice on where to find someone experienced in ALJ-level Medicare SNF appeals, I would deeply appreciate it.

And genuinely — if I end up using someone you recommend and we win, I’d happily send you a thank-you pizza or equivalent. I’m just trying to help my parents navigate a system that has been incredibly difficult to understand.

Thank you.

PS For anyone asking, NO, unequivocally NO, we don’t have Medicare Advantage. I don’t know why that matters but they don’t have it. They have the following.: Original Medicare (Part A + Part B)

plus

👉 A supplemental / retiree plan administered by Aetna

What that means in plain English

They do NOT have:

* Medicare Advantage (Part C)

They DO have:

* Medicare Part A (covers SNF)

* Medicare Part B

* PLUS an Aetna plan layered on top (often from a former employer like a school system)

it’s my understanding that this may be atypical insurance in that it’s not often seeing even by doctors offices these days. But it does exist. It’s some kind of I guess grandfather plan from people that were part of the school system or I don’t know if it’s a government or school system, but it’s the plan that they have. They don’t have Medicare advantage. Not at all in any way shape or form. Not semantics. They don’t have it. PERIOD. I don’t mean to have a bad tone of voice, but at least six people wrote to me privately saying it must be Medicare advantage and it’s NOT. I have too much on my plate right now to be arguing about something like this so I hope I’ve made this clear to anyone who is trying to assess me. Thank you.

UPDATE: I appreciate anyone who has tried to help and a few have asked me precisely what type of Medicare so here is the answer: Original Medicare (Part A + Part B)

plus

👉 A supplemental / retiree plan administered by Aetna

What that means in plain English

They do NOT have:

* Medicare Advantage (Part C)

They DO have:

* Medicare Part A (covers SNF)

* Medicare Part B

* PLUS an Aetna plan layered on top (often from a former employer like a school system)

Hi all — I’m hoping someone here can point me in the right direction.

I’m looking for an attorney who specifically handles Medicare appeals at the ALJ level (Office of Medicare Hearings and Appeals), particularly involving SNF / rehab coverage denials. (in NJ)

I’ve been advocating for my mom (fractured T-10 vertebrae, sacral AND dominant right wrist, from a fall)

and I genuinely believed we had a VERY strong case — multiple physician statements, documented functional limitations, ongoing pain issues, and clear safety concerns. Despite that, we were denied at both the QIO and QIC levels, which has been incredibly frustrating and honestly confusing!! (ngl…

right now I’m alternating between being incredibly sad to incredibly angry!!)

At this point I’m preparing for the ALJ stage and want to make sure this is handled the right way, ideally by someone who:

* has real experience with Medicare SNF coverage appeals

* understands the “skilled vs. custodial” distinction

* has actually handled ALJ hearings (not just paper appeals)

& ideally someone with a good track prior. Does this “Unicorn” exist?

If anyone has worked with someone they would strongly recommend (even outside my state if they handle cases remotely), I would really appreciate it.

And seriously — if I end up hiring someone you recommend and it helps us win, I’d be more than happy to send you a thank-you pizza (or equivalent, up to $30). Just genuinely grateful for any solid leads.

Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to respond. This process has been a lot.
