I'm new to the MPC one (gen 1)
I'm wondering two things:
should I update the firmware? it came on 3.5. but I've seen other posts saying updating firmware bricked their mpc. I'm wondering if it's safe to go to 3.7 or 3.9. or if its safest to stay where I'm at?
what size SD card and speed do ya'll recommend? right now I'm using my external hard drive but I'd like something dedicated to my mpc
i'm feeling torn bc there is an mpc studio black (w screen) available for $125 on marketplace. i see on here most ppl advocating to save up and get the one. but i like that the studio black is thin and easily portable enough with my laptop and i'm broke.
i'm wondering what the main differences are btw them. (other than stand alone vs controller). would love to see opinions from ppl who have used the studio black.
i'd like to make garage, r&b, and dance tracks. i also dj and would like to use it as a drum machine/ sampler while djing. i have almost zero experience making beats (other than messing around in koala). and i'll dabble in reaper but would like to keep my daw usage on the low side.
I'm a dj, singer and bass player and have little bit of piano experience. I'd like to make beats. And i'd potentially like to use a drum machine while djing. I am poor and unemployed, so the mpc live being on here is a strechhhhhh and the least probable for my budget. i'm trying to find the best instrument for the money out of these listed here. i have an old macbook that doesn't have enough ram for something like ableton, but can run reaper. idk if that makes a difference. i'm also a total beginner when it comes to this, so i'd like something user friendly.
i'm looking to use a drum machine while djing, and was wondering if it's possible to pair the xdj-rr with a drum machine? i have a mixer. and i was wondering which affordable drum machine ppl recommend
