I built a subreddit where SaaS founders can launch their products — and we're adding a daily "Startup of the Day"

I've been running r/LaunchMyStartup, a community for founders and indie hackers to actually launch what they're building and get it in front of other builders.

The idea is pretty simple: build something → launch it → get feedback from other founders.

I've noticed that getting attention for a new product has become increasingly difficult. Reddit can be noisy, and a lot of the dedicated launch platforms outside Reddit either feel crowded or push you toward paid promotion.

So we're experimenting with building a lightweight version of that inside a community, rather than another standalone launch platform.

Starting this month, we're also introducing Startup of the Day.

Every day, we'll look at the previous day's launches and highlight the ones that received the most community support. The idea is to gradually turn it into a friendly competition and, as the community grows, develop better ways to recognize genuinely good launches.

So if you've recently launched a SaaS, are about to launch one, or just want a place to put your product in front of other builders:

r/LaunchMyStartup

Would love to have some of you launch there and help us shape what this becomes.

👋Welcome to r/LaunchMyStartup - Introduce Yourself and Read First!

Welcome to r/LaunchMyStartup — a place for founders, indie hackers, makers, and builders to put their work in front of other people who are building too.

Launching something is hard. Getting anyone to notice it can be even harder.

This community is here to make that a little easier.

Built something? Launch it here.

Looking for feedback? Ask for it.

Found something interesting? Give the founder some love.

And starting October 1st, we're introducing Startup of the Day — a daily way to recognize the launches that get the most support from the community.

The system will evolve as the community grows. The bigger we get, the better we'll be able to recognize great startups, give founders meaningful exposure, and create more interesting ways to compete and participate.

No gatekeeping. No need to have a huge following. Just build something and put it out there.

If you're building something, you're welcome here.

Launch your startup. Find your people. Help someone else build theirs. 🚀

Would you use a free tool to collect and showcase reviews and testimonials for your business?

Thinking of building a free tool to collect reviews/testimonials for any business, would you use this?

Problem: reviews and testimonials end up scattered everywhere, a Google review here, a WhatsApp text there, a screenshot saved on your phone somewhere. No easy way to bring them into one place and actually show them off as proof on your website.

Idea: get a public page for your business where any future customer can leave you a review, text or video, so it's one centralized place going forward instead of scattering again. Just send customers a link to ask for a review, collect everything in one place, then embed it on your website with a simple widget.

Not just for SaaS, for any business: salons, trainers, photographers, freelancers, agencies, local shops, etc

Would be completely free.

What are you currently using to collect and show off reviews? Trustpilot, G2, Senja, something else, or just screenshotting DMs and hoping for the best? And would something like this actually get used, or is this solving a problem nobody has?

I created this index of the most popular entities according to aura

I always wanted to build this. My aim is to quantify human perception using a simple label called aura.

People either upvote or downvote the things that they like or dislike in comparison to others and we get this aura leaderboard of the world.

This is how it looks currently.

I would love it if you could check this out here - https://aurahunt.com

Open to feedback. This is a dream project of mine since it's not a saas but a consumer social app/site

I have tried to market it in a few other subs but people seem to be hating on the use of the word aura and don't seem to understand the concept behind the site.

It would be so amazing to see the world vote map and the aura graph over time (to see which country supports whom and who lost and gained popularity over time)

Tech stack -> Nextjs, nodejs, hosted on vercel and render, emails using AWS ses, supabase and supabase auth, assets stored on cloudflare R2

An AURA leaderboard of the world

A simple free project which is an attempt from my side to quantify perception and relevance of everything around us. You can completely explore the site, signing up is only required for voting and commenting and rest of the things are free to be explored without logging in. Open to feedback and how it can be improved.

You can learn more about the project by visiting the about page. Thanks for reading everyone.

I built an aura leaderboard of the world

https://reddit.com/link/1ursbr6/video/1vk4kq9uu7ch1/player

Link first, since that's the point: aurahunt.com

I posted this on twitter and linkedin two weeks ago, got 10 likes total, and ngl that stung a bit. But I think reddit is where the people who'd actually get this are, so let me try explaining it properly.

I built AuraHunt. 6 months of work, alone, nights and weekends around a contract job. It's not monetizable and I know that going in. I'm not doing this for money. I just wanted this thing to exist because I couldn't stop thinking about it and nobody else was building it.

Here's the idea. Everything around you has an aura whether you think about it that way or not. Your college has an aura. Your workplace has an aura. Ronaldo has an aura. Israel has an aura, Palestine has an aura, Trump has an aura, Putin has an aura. Doesn't matter if it's positive or negative, doesn't matter if it's a person or a place or just an idea floating around, everything gets judged constantly in people's heads, in group chats, in arguments with friends, and none of that judgement goes anywhere. It just evaporates. AuraHunt is where you put it so it actually sticks somewhere.

Anyone can add an entity if it doesn't exist yet. Once it's there, people vote it up or down and the number moves, live, forever. That gives you an aura graph over time, so you can literally watch how the world's opinion on something shifts week to week.

The thing I'm actually excited about, more than anything else on the site, is the vote map. Every vote is tied to a country. So when you vote you're not just clicking a button, you're putting your country on the map for that opinion. Look at any entity and you can see which countries are pushing it up and which ones hate it. Opinion turned into geography. I think about this way more than I probably should.

Then aura battles. Put two things against each other, see which one people pick, and unlike a twitter poll it doesn't disappear the next day. It just stays, with an approval ratio next to it, and people can keep voting on it years from now.

And auralists, crowd ranked lists, best movies of all time, best books of 2026, whatever anyone wants to build.

Why does this need to exist at all, why not just tweet it or argue about it in a comment section like everyone already does. Because none of that sticks anywhere. Letterboxd only lets you log movies. Google reviews only lets you log places and businesses. There's no single place where you can log an opinion on a person, an idea, a political figure, a moment in history, literally anything, the same way, in one spot, forever. That gap is the entire reason I built this.

I know people aren't opening this everyday, I'm not delusional about that. What I actually want is for people to remember this exists, so that when something happens, some news, some argument, someone does something, and you have an opinion about it, you think of AuraHunt. You go add the thing if it's not there yet, you vote, and your opinion is logged somewhere instead of dying in your head or in a whatsapp group nobody scrolls back to.

Just go look at it yourself, that'll explain it faster than anything I write here. Vote on one thing, check the map for it, start a battle if you feel like it. Two minutes and I think it clicks.

I still live a chawl. Update after 8 months.

Hey everyone. Around 8 months ago I made a post here titled I still live in a chawl

I honestly felt much safer sharing it here because I knew fellow Mumbaikars would understand the situation better than anyone else. I never expected that post to get so much love. I still remember reading every comment that day and a lot of people even DM'd me later asking how things were going.

Yesterday I crossed 50 lakhs net worth. Never thought I would type that sentence. I just went to Marine drive and sat there to soak it all in and realize that this all real.

Before anyone thinks this is a flex post, trust me it isn't. In Mumbai, 50 lakhs doesn't even buy me the one thing I want the most, a decent 1 BHK.

But I'll be honest... yesterday I just felt relieved.

For the last 5-6 years my life has just been study, job, save money, invest, repeat. Ever since my father passed away it has always felt like there is no safety net. Every decision was taken thinking "what if something goes wrong?"

Crossing this number doesn't change my life overnight but it finally feels like I have some cushion. Like I can breathe a little.

One thing I genuinely didn't expect was my mom. I thought convincing her to move out of our chawl would be the easiest thing ever. I was completely wrong.

She just kept saying "we will move when we buy our own house". It actually took me months to convince her that renting doesn't mean we've given up on buying a home. It just means we don't have to continue living like this while we save for one. I convinced her that its important we improve our lifestyle. She finally agreed.

So yes... I still live in the same chawl.

Mostly because my passport has been stuck at police verification for almost 2 months now (don't even get me started on that 😅). Once that's done we'll hopefully move into a rented apartment in the next few months.

But honestly, this isn't even what's on my mind these days.

I'll be 24 this August and I still don't know what I want to do for the rest of my life.

I graduated as a mechanical engineer and didn't really enjoy it. I moved into software because it simply paid much better.

Right now my contract job pays around 2.8 lakhs a month, but my employer isn't in the best phase and there's a chance I'll have to find something else in the next 2-3 months. I really hope that doesn't happen.

I'm honestly not scared about finding another job. I'll probably manage and think I will eventually find some work

What scares me is something else. I don't know what I'm building towards.

Programming is okay. I don't hate it. But I don't think I love it either.

The only thing that genuinely excites me is building products. I recently launched one. It's in the consumer social space so I know monetization isn't something that happens overnight, maybe it never does.

But I enjoy building it way more than doing my day job.

Some of my friends have already finished their masters in the US and Europe.

Their path just seems... sorted.

They will probably get a good job, grow in their career, settle down.

And then there's me.Every few months I question everything. Should I continue in software? Should I keep building products? Am I wasting my potential? honestly don't know.

Sometimes it feels like everyone else got a roadmap and I'm still standing at the first junction trying to figure out which road to take.

And life is stopping for me to figure it out.I still have to keep earning. Keep saving. Hopefully buy a house someday. Then in another 3-4 years there'll probably be the usual "shaadi kab karoge?" questions. I haven't even found someone yet.

Some days it honestly feels like everything is happening at once. Trying to find what I'm actually passionate about.

It's weird because 8 months ago I thought money was the biggest problem in my life. Now I'm not so sure.

On the brighter side, life is definitely better than it was when I wrote the first post.

I've started going out more. Started going on treks, learning swimming. Trying to meet new people instead of sitting at home every weekend. Basically just trying to undo years of living like a complete introvert.

Anyway, that's all. I just wanted to come back here because this subreddit genuinely helped me when I wasn't in a great place mentally.

Maybe a year from now I'll come back and share something positive with you all. I also hope the best for you all, hope everyone is doing good.

I am feeling frustrated about not having a friend group

So on paper, I am doing well. I have a good job, I'm trying new hobbies, and life is generally moving in the right direction.

But during my diploma years and engineering, I never really met people with whom I could build long-lasting friendships. I also never found a group that would just go on random trips, hang out, and create memories together.

I was very introverted back then, which is one of the reasons I don't have many friends today. I have improved myself a lot in the last 1 year and feel that I am more of an ambivert now.

Growing up was also hard for me. For a long time, I was focused on survival and saving as much money as possible. Because of that, I often held myself back from socializing with people who seemed carefree, outgoing, and able to enjoy life like normal teenagers.

I know a lot of the fault lies with me. Looking back, there were many opportunities where I could have put myself out there more.

But now that I am finally free from most of the survival challenges in life, and can actually see a future beyond just getting through the next month, I feel like I missed out on so much.

I want to make my life better. I want to enjoy the rest of my 20s. I'm 23 right now and will turn 24 soon, but I don't have many core memories that make me feel like I truly lived my youth.

I live in Mumbai, and I haven't even been to Lonavala, which feels like a rite of passage for every friend group at some point. I can solo travel, and I already have done a bit of that and plan to continue. But let's be honest, some experiences are simply better when shared with people who matter to you.

The frustrating part is that I still don't have those people. The problem is made even worse by the fact that I work from home. Unlike people who go to an office and naturally meet coworkers, my social circle doesn't really grow on its own. Most days, it's just me working from my room.

I know everyone says, "Get hobbies and meet people through them," but honestly, making friends as an adult is hard. At this stage, I don't just want random acquaintances. I want genuine friendships. The kind where you can call someone when life gets difficult. The kind that lasts years. The kind of friends you invite to your wedding someday.

And sadly, I don't have that.

Does anyone else feel this way?
