"Root touch-up" spray / powder recommendations?

Hi friends! I'm getting married this weekend, and after 2 disastrous hair trials, I've decided to do my own hair. I have dark brown hair and very pale skin, and I'm self conscious about my scalp showing through my thinning hair.

I don't have any gray hair, but I once had a hair stylist use a brown-colored "root touch-up" spray to fill in the thinning spots on my hair, and I thought it worked quite well. I'm thinking of investing in a product like that, either a spray or a powder, to add a bit of color to my roots/scalp, and give the illusion of fuller hair.

Does anyone have any recommendations (or warnings!) for "root touch-up" products like this? Any opinions on powder vs. spray? There's a bit of rain in the forecast, so I'm a little worried about that.

Thanks!

Can I make exceptions to our no-kids rule?

I'd always assumed we'd invite our friend's kids to our wedding, but my mom had a very different picture in mind. She is adamant about having no young kids (under 13-ish) at the wedding. My parents & partner's parents are teaming up to pay for the wedding, and my mom is doing the majority of planning & coordination because my partner and I are both totally overwhelmed with our work. I've already wasted a ton of time & energy fighting with my mom about inviting kids to the wedding, and I felt that I had to concede out of respect for the time, energy, & expense she's undertaken. However, I won one key concession: I could let my best friend / bridesmaid bring her 1 year old kid.

I didn't put a "no kids" policy on the website or invitation, so I've been getting a lot of questions from people wanting to bring their kids (mostly in the 1-5 yo range). I accidentally told one friend yes before I knew my mom's no kid stance, and I had to awkwardly reneg / uninvite their kids. And for everyone else, I've just been saying: sorry, we can't accommodate kids.

But I've gotten another request for someone to bring a kid and it feels different. This friend lives very far away, but was coincidentally going to be in town on our wedding weekend for a conference, and I assumed they were planning to attend alone. But it turns out that their spouse and 8-year old kid will also be in town, and would love to attend. These people are very important to me; I was this kid's first babysitter, I changed their diapers. I really want to say: sure, come and bring your kid! But I'm terrified that my other friends, whose kids weren't invited (because I told them "we can't accommodate kids") will be furious, and resent me.

Bottom line: Is there any tactful and polite way of inviting (and justifying) 2 kids at the wedding (my bridesmaid's 1 yo and my mentor's 8 yo) without hurting / infuriating my other friends with kids? Can I say: I'm only inviting kids over 8, and kids associated with the wedding party? Or is that transparently rude?

Tips for archival-quality print on paper?

Hi friends!
I'm not an experienced screenprinter, but I've taken a few workshops over the years and I live near a makerspace with screenprinting tools. I'm getting married soon and I was thinking of designing & printing my own ketubah (jewish marriage contract). I would need the print to be as long-lasting as possible, so I'm in search of waterproof / archival-quality inks. (Our officiant stressed that it's really important to sign the document with an archvial pen, because he's seen other inks wash out or fade away in time.)

I'm also interested in people's paper recommendations. A lot of the popular ketubahs available online are printed on 100% cotton rag, acid-free Arches paper. I love cotton rag for watercolor painting, but I'm wondering: is this best choice for screen printing? Or would a different acid-free option with a smoother surface be a better option?

Thanks for your help!!

ISO indie sleaze DJ for millennial hipster wedding

I'm trying to track down a wedding DJ for my July wedding in Boston this summer. I'd love to find someone who understands indie sleaze. I'm talking MGMT, LCD Soundsystem, Matt & Kim, STRFKR. And the rest of the indie/alt gang: Beck, Franz Ferdinand, Florence and the Machine. We're happy to have some modern pop & wedding classics too. (We're not going to make our loved ones dance to The King of Carrot Flowers Pt. 2, for example.) But we do want some of our favorite indie jams. I know that my city is lousy with like-minded millennial hipsters, but I'm having a heck of a time finding a DJ that's comfortable with the bands I'm talking about. Any ideas??

Does anyone have experience buying stamps from online resellers? I'm not super excited about the current stamp options on USPS. I'd love to get some older Forever stamps to use on my wedding invitations, but I'm a little nervous about buying stamps from online resellers (as opposed to buying new stamps directly from USPS). I don't want to end up with counterfeit stamps.

Has anyone here bought stamps through an online reseller before? Any sites you'd recommend, or sites to avoid?
