John G. Bonomi Jr, 66, purchased the 5,817-square-foot dwelling situated between Cape Cod Bay and Wellfleet Harbor in November 2021 for the asking price of $5.5 million, despite the bluff eroding at a rate of 3.8 to 5.6 feet per year.

Central Florida Zoo introduces Leeloo, youngest sloth in its care after Sloth World rescue effort

Leeloo is one of the surviving sloths rescued from the now-defunct International Drive attraction Sloth World, a case that has been under investigation since April and closely followed by Channel 9.

The rescue effort comes amid growing concerns about sloth welfare in Florida.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission recently approved new restrictions on the ownership and importation of sloths into the state.

Under the changes, sloths will no longer be covered under Class III Wildlife permits, also known as blanket import permits.

Anyone seeking to import a sloth into Florida will now be required to obtain a specific importation permit from the commission.

According to investigators, at least 57 sloths connected to Sloth World have died, while eight others continue to receive treatment.

"It is a disgusting problem," Barringer said.

Barringer says the issue has been noticeable enough to affect daily life at her home, including during Ocean View St. Patrick’s Day Parade when they had guests at their home.

Lemonade stand will return to business after South Boston Robbery

BOSTON (WHDH) - A 12-year-old boy who said the lemonade stand he runs with his 11-year-old sister in South Boston was robbed Wednesday will be back open for business Friday with a new mission: half of the proceeds will go toward reducing gun violence.

Boston police released video Thursday of the two male juveniles they are looking for in connection with the robbery. The victims told police that the suspects walked by the stand on the corner of E and W 9th Street several times before approaching and asking whether they accepted Apple Pay as payment. Before the victims could respond, one suspect grabbed a box filled with the money they had earned before they both took off from the scene.
