Neighborhood Renovation and Local Concerts

I’m in a rough spot along with my husband who works night shift. The house next to us (10ft away) has started renovations from 7am to 9pm and my husband gets home right when they start working. We are both looking for things (other than sound machines, fans, etc because we run those anyway) to help us sleep especially ear buds. I’ve looked into loop but I want to get other people’s opinions on how well they cancel bass frequencies before we spend almost $100 on two pairs. We also live next to a park that hosts loud concerts during the summer. My noise canceling headphones cut out the bass well enough but they’re way too bulky/uncomfortable to sleep in every night.

Neighbor Renovation, Need Sound Proofing Repairs

I’m renting a house with my husband (who works night shift). We live in Illinois, we’re somewhat close to our landlord (rented for at least 4 years), and are on a year to year lease. Are there any rental-friendly ways to sound proof our rooms so we aren’t woken up? Our landlord said it’s ok if we re-caulk the windows and add things (that aren’t permanent). Since it’s a house from the 1950s and our landlord can’t re-insulate the walls, what measure can we take to allow my husband to get his much needed sleep during the day?

Neighborhood Construction

Someone bought the fixer-upper next door to our house. The house is about 10-15 ft away from our bedroom windows and they’re doing renovations, lawn work, meetings, etc from 7am to 10pm. I have a toddler, an infant, a husband who works night shift (sleeps during the day, and I try to get all the sleep I can. Does anyone have any sound/bass proofing recommendations or earbuds (that my husband and I) can wear to bed to help reduce the sound?

I’m a 21 year old first-time mom and SAHM to a 2 year old (28 months to be exact). My husband and I are thinking about her future, especially preschool. I want to teach her some basics like counting, shapes, colors, etc. and I’m not sure how to help her/introduce those concepts to her. I’m also wondering what topics they cover in preschool/need children to know beforehand that they will eventually expand on in class.
We use flash cards but she only knows animals and body parts. She also knows how to count up to 3 on her own and to 10 with help, she knows what clothing goes where (Ex: socks go on feet, she’ll put her foot out or shirts go on chests and she’ll close her eyes in anticipation of us putting the shirt over her head) The only colors she knows are blue and pink, and the only letter she knows how to say is “a”. She will play with toys and I notice that she separates colors and shapes together but for months I’ve told her things like “that is a blue square (for a blue building block)”, “these socks are pink”, or “this hat is green”.
My questions for advice are,

  1. What ways worked for your own children to start on those topics
  2. What subjects do preschool teachers assume a child knows in order to learn.
  3. Am I being paranoid and not realizing that she’s too young to comprehend those things/that I’m too impatient on teaching her or am I wayyyyyy behind?

Edit: after all the advice (which I greatly appreciate 😁) in the comments, I feel as though I should teach her/ narrate through her daily routines more often and let her be a toddler at the same time. I just want her to excel and be comfortable in school since I had adhd and struggled so much. The flash cards are also age appropriate, they’re just images of animals, body parts, or shapes.
