Relic Bakery breakfast sandwich

Relic Bakery breakfast sandwich

Housemade sourdough muffin, housemade sausage, runny egg, arugula, American cheese, and caramelized onions.

It was $15, but it was very filling/ couldn't finish it. I love the fact that they use local purveyors and make the muffins in house.

Frozen/ Take and Bake food from local spots?

Sometimes I'll eat at restaurants and grab something to keep in my freezer for a lazy or rainy day craving. What other places have frozen options that you can cook or bake at home?

Here's the ones I'm aware of:

  1. Meet Dumpling

  2. Pop Pie

  3. Square Pizza East Village (idk if pb does this)

Which restaurants have good cake (slices or hunks) as dessert options? (Hillcrest/UH/NP/NH, and surrounding)

I've been thru whole foods, vons, ralphs, trader Joe's, Costco, Barons, etc (basically all store cakes.)

Not in an extraordinary desserts mood.

I don't usually order desserts from restaurants, so I'm pretty dumb about who has good cake as a dessert option.

Flavor: any, but preferably dark chocolate. Just want to pop in and buy a slice to go.

Ty!

Home Depot Grand Opening

New location next to the Scottish Rite building.

As of 4pm, giving away popcorn, churros, shopping bags, and home depot hats.

Space is really nice, fully stocked. I found parking up front, but there is that whole big lot

Did anyone find the hidden crochet toys?

Before comicon started, there was a poster who said they would be hiding their handmade crochet toys around the convention.

Just curious if anyone found any of them!

Did anyone go to the Pan's Labyrinth 20th Anniversary party at Parq?

I left at 8:15. Was beat from the whole day walking around. There was supposed to be a surprise at 9:30 pm. Curious what it was?

Chocolate bar line

For tomorrow:

If I get to the convention center after the doors open, is there a long line for the chocolates by Ballroom 20? Does it move fast? Do I have to wait in a line to get to that line if the doors are already open?

Adult Swim Activation preview

Got to check this out tonight. The Rambler (Rick and Morty Ride) was really fun. There was a mini golf game, a slingshot/hit the moving target game, a pick an item out of the water with sticks game, and a few others. Food wasn't served yet. I can see the line for the ride being a really long wait as it took time for people to get on and off.

#SaveStargate Campaign Attends San Diego Comic Con with Flyover and Other Events

Just got this in press email, passing along if anyone looking for more offsite things!

Calling on Amazon MGM Studios to Keep Series In TV Universe Canon

Hi friends -

You may have heard the news: Amazon MGM Studios' planned new Stargate series was abruptly cancelled in June after weeks of pre-production prep. #SaveStargate, a fan-organised and funded movement, has worked tirelessly for the last two months to prove that an active, dedicated audience exists for this content.

#SaveStargate plans to attend San Diego Comic Con in force this weekend to raise awareness about the campaign with like-minded sci-fi fans. The campaign also intends to reach out to Amazon MGM Studios, hoping to work with them to bring a new Stargate series to life. We have three main events planned over the weekend. A Save Stargate banner flyover of the convention center, a party at Bay City Brewery on Friday, and an unveiling of a new 5e D&D Stargate module on Saturday. We invite co-goers to join us and play this brand new game written specifically for the #SaveStargate campaign. There will also be a cosplay contest and a fan meet-up.

Badge pickup today 1-5pm

Hello,

Going to try to pick up my badge after work. I don't mind the walk, but just wanted to ask if (historically) the parking lot by the Shell/ next to Joe's by the park is pretty empty after 3pm? Since it's not Wednesday, think I'll have luck back there?

Selling Sunset episode showing on TV on another Netflix show (The Hawk)

Sorry, this made me chuckle a bit. Not a spoiler of either show, but if you've watched The Hawk, did you catch this? 🤣

Simpsons panel on Saturday

Hi,

First timer here... how soon would I have to get in line for the Simpsons panel on Saturday at 11:45? 1-2 hours?

Hello Kitty Cafe Truck

How bad do you think the line will be for this? Wanted to get something for my friend from here, but not really sure how much time to allot for an offsite. I have stuff scheduled at the convention center every morning, so will likely be an afternoon visit.

Locals living in Hillcrest/UH/NP who aren't doing paid parking... how are you getting to SDCC?

I'm coming in from this area and trying to find the most cost effective and straight forward way to get to and from sdcc for all 5 days.

Please let me know if I'm missing something:

  1. Drive 2 miles to FV and take the trolley in.

  2. Park at chuze fitness and take the purple shuttle from the Sheraton next door. (I'm not sure if they monitor cars in the back lot, since the gym is open until at least 8 pm)

  3. Take the 11 bus to 1st and G and do the 10 minute walk to/from the convention center. Or get off near Broadway and trolley from Santa fe depot.

Not cost effective, but option:

Uber to a trolley stop to the convention.

Any other suggestions welcomed thank you!

Menus, Hours, and Prices - Oh My! Restaurant Promotions During San Diego Comic-Con 2026 [Updated July 11]

I had to chuckle because Garage Kitchen has the same $6 deal pretty much all the time, but just labeling it as a Comicon themed deal. Nevertheless, it's cheap and walking distance.

Frank Miller at SDCC

Hi,

Sorry for the dumb question, I'm somewhat new to the planning part of my time at Comicon.

I know he's going to be at sdcc, but I'm having trouble finding where and when. I follow his ig but no updates, and some of the panels that he's worked with before are vague on their "guests."

I just don't want to miss a potential opportunity for a signing. I didn't see anything on the exclusives.

Any tips?

East Coast transplants: what's the closest cheese you've found here to Cooper's sharp American?

Yes, I'm aware you can't buy it here...

Yes, I'm aware it can be bought online, in a massive amount with a long wait...

I'm really curious to try it, bc I hear it's really tasty. Since it's not easily accessible, I was wondering if anyone has found a local brand that kinda tastes like it?

My only other option is to beg Arby's to sell me the Cooper cheese they're using on their cheesesteak, but I don't imagine getting very far with that lol.
