I started a D&D group because of a random reddit post. Last night at game five, one of my players gave me a bracelet.

The epic meltdown

Howard Beale, Network: After having a breakdown during the evening news, Beale's network chooses to capitalize on his volatility for ratings, withholding psychiatric care and encouraging him to engage with subjects that enrage him. This leads to an on-air rant encouraging viewers to join him in his anger and the birth of the line "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not gonna take it anymore!"

Clark W. Griswold, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation: Clark had been barely holding it together throughout the Christmas season with his extended family, but learning that his yearly bonus would be a subscription to a jelly club finally sends him over the edge. "Hallelujah! Holy Shit! Where's the Tylenol?" will forever sum up the feeling about Christmas for many of us.

Ned Flanders, The Simpsons: A hurricane destroyed Ned's house, and the citizens of Springfield banded together to build him a new one. The house had too much electricity, optical-illusion hallways, and the structural integrity of a saltine. Ned's barrage of personal attacks on the townspeople was remarkable coming from a man whose harshest judgment up to that point was calling Ann Landers "a boring old biddy."

Brennan Lee Mulligan, Game Changer: Brennan's rants against what he perceives as rules designed to keep him from winning are a staple of the show, but when the rule of the game was specifically designed to keep him from winning, a two-minute meltdown ensued, unmatched in simmering fury and creative allusions. The transcript of the entirety of the rant was soon appearing on official Game Changer merch.

Seeking: 2 D&D players

We have the DM (experienced)!

We have two enthusiastic players (mixed experience)!

We need at least one/max two more people to round out the cast. The game will be in-person.

Being available for text/discord scheduling will be high among the requirements. Levelling up is easy; scheduling is the real grind.

Beginners are more than welcome. DM me for deets.

Amazing Shmiggadoon experience

No cell phones went off.

No one talked.

No one sang.

No one's screen lit up.

No one searched through their backpack with their flashlight.

There were zero medical emergencies or stage mishaps or mechanical malfunctions.

You couldn't hear the pedicabs through the walls.

One person in front of us waved at someone they knew in the ensemble, but it only happened once and was kind of adorable.

The show was also really funny.

Thank you, Theatre Gods! A sacrifice of overpriced wine has been made in your name.
