Update on my t3100e and the sadness

So I posted asking about putting cf in my "laptop" well the past weekend was a sad day the laptop fell from my desk and broke the plasma panel. Surprisingly I do have a couple more plasma screens but they are not the same connector so I've been trying to get a pinout listing just so I can adapt it.

My favorite double, a Pieper Arms Modified Diana

A Pieper Arms modified Diana, 30" barrels, 12ga 2-1/2" chambers, walnut furniture, Damascus barrels mono bloc chambers, and beautiful engraving/stamping.

This is the double I reach for to hunt, shoot clays, or just go shoot something.

Some temporary damage repair on my 88 glendale class c

Been a season and a half of using our motorhome with the passenger side wall corner separated and I finally had enough down time to look into it. Turns out there was no wood left on the sill plate, very little left of the corner joint that makes the corner, and the top bunk was gone which we knew about when bought.

My solution to the rotten support was to use a 2x8 as a sill and screw it further into the floor structure and laminate the corner joint with some new wood.

My next thing to tackle is the top bunk which will be plywood replacement and a 2x4 sill, these are temporary fixes to get us through the seasons last few trips.

Starting this winter we are going to strip it down to the cab chassis and completely rebuild it up.

Toshiba t3100e question

I have a t3100e/20 that I've had in pieces now for a few years and I'm finally getting around to ordering stuff and I want to be sure I'm not wasting money going with a IDE to CF adapter in place of the 20mb conner drive.

Apparently they came with 2 drive sizes 20 and 40 mb I believe when I last had it powered up I only seen 2 drive type selections in the bios which concerns me since cf normally comes in bit increments so depending on what I can get that's 16 or 32 mb as closest sizes.

Anybody got insight or possibly even installed a cf adapter in one of these machines?

What's your opinion on my idea

Do you think I would have any luck adding a display adapter and ide controller to this? Curious if any of you think this would give me a boot screen or not?

Since it's a 386 and not an embedded mcu I'm thinking it might just be a ultra chopped system for long term service. It looks to have a normal chipset onboard, a single slot of ram, and 4 com ports.

Thoughts on the likelyness of this working

Something way out of my comfort zone

Pulled this from the scrap a couple hours ago and after I broke into the case by disabling the lock, I turned it on to find out it's dual pentium 133mhz, has 32mbs of 70ns ram, a single 4.3gb scsi drive attached to a drive backplane, a dds-2 tape drive, cd drive and cirrus logic video card. The scsi is on an adaptec 2940 card, there's also another card that I'm not sure what it is yet.

My favorite kind of rod

Got a bunch of these in a yardsale and some in a dumpster, been using them on and off with the old baitcaster reels I have. I just can't seem to get a decent cast from modern fiber rods anymore. The spring steel is just one hell of a slingshot for me, now if only I had one over 5ft.

Well the mica filter is finished

After finally getting home I carefully started peeling back layers to find clear pieces, turns out most of the chunks I grabbed were either too small after or quite contaminated between the layers.

But I was able to carefully peel a piece back enough for this filter. It's not perfect and actually still thicker then I need, but I'm afraid to split it again for the fear of ending up with a crack somewhere and then losing my transparency.

I think it's going to make my shots soft like a fungus filled lens, however it should at least let me test some with it.

SOYO KT600 Dragon Plus

Something I've had laying boxes ever since I pulled it from a dumpster over 10yrs ago, it's got an Athalon XP 2800+ Barton processor under the Spire cooler.

Maybe I might get around to using it for something this year maybe not love the color scheme of this board regardless not a fan of purple in general as a color but it looks good on this board
