I know that it's a decision only I can make but just looking for insight. I’m in the UK.
One job is as a geophysical surveyor in a small company that does utility/land/geophysical/hydrographic surveying. They spoke a lot in the interview about opportunities to progress in to project management and specialising in a niche within the company.

One job is as a geoenvironmental consultant in a medium/large company that works in geoenvironmental and geotechnical engineering. I'm currently leaning towards this as it's closer to my current interests and what I wanted to pursue originally.

Thinking longer term, which one of these would allow for more development and lead to higher paying roles? And the current relevant question, is one of these more likely to be replaced by AI? Both roles said they aim for 60% field and 40% office, but I imagine as a surveyor I'd be still doing fieldwork well in to my career whereas in geoenvironmental the amount of fieldwork decreases lots with experience right? Also in terms of work life balance and being able to find work abroad, which would be better? Or is that down to the individual companies.

I got my degree in BSc Geology from a solid RG university last month and now searching for my first job. I’ve had good results back so far including 2 final round interviews that have both resulted in rejection.
I’m just thinking, my application is clearly good enough to land interviews and get responses, but not quite good enough to land a job. I wanted to do an internship/placement during university but for various reasons (I’m a carer for a family member) I couldn’t.

So I’m just wondering for any UK Geos, what can I do now that i’ve graduated to strengthen my position in the market? Would any company still offer me an internship of any kind or is there any kind of certs I could complete or things I could learn to prepare myself?

Or are there any tangentially related jobs that would translate across and be beneficial to a geology job. I’m also currently looking at masters too but I hear mixed opinions on whether they’re worth it. (I was mostly looking at MSc Engineering Geology at Leeds or MSc Hydrogeology at Birmingham, if there’s any other good courses in affordable cities i’d take a look too)

I’m currently based in the West Midlands- commutable to Birmingham, Stoke, Telford, Shrewsbury, Chester and surrounding places. Can’t relocate due to aforementioned care duties.

The consortium seeking to buy the club has cleared a key hurdle after receiving the green light from the Independent Football Regulator and English Football League.

The club confirmed it received telephone calls from both bodies on Friday afternoon confirming the consortium had cleared the necessary regulatory processes. Formal written confirmation from the EFL was received today (September 7).

Is the Italian culture of being well dressed disappearing?

I see online, and in stereotypes italians take great importance in how to dress,
but all the places I have been, the youth seem to all wear whatever the trend is in the USA, the black community here all seems to wear the same designer stuff with far too many logos and bright colours, the older people wear the same as any other european country.. and i’m not just talking about American tourists.

I don’t mean it as an affront, there is some very well dressed people, and i’m sure the people on here dress well, I just was expecting more from what people say online (especially people talking about immigrants dressing badly).

Does the stereotype just come from Americans who dress very casually?

One thing that has surprised me is your PLANTS and GARDENS though, some of the best kept parks and gardens I have seen up there with England and France!
