I will preface this with the fact that I am a huge Siberian Husky lover. The breed is insanely intelligent, athletic, and beautiful.

But these dogs are legit endurance athletes, and the number of people who get them and think that a three mile walk and a puzzle toy are enough to keep the dog happy is just ridiculous.

In one breath, they’ll brag about their beautiful dog, and in the next complain that it shredded their sofa while they were in the bathroom.

And the worst part is the advice from folks in some of the husky groups online: the dog needs a “sniff walk” and a snuffle mat to tire it out.

No, Nancy from NYC, the dog needs to run and pull something as part of a team. Part of a working breed’s care is giving it a breed-appropriate and age-appropriate job. Doing anything otherwise is irresponsible.
