Hey friends! Currently running DVDstyler on a Mac (Tahoe 26.5) and attempting to burn DVDs using DVDR-DL discs and files I got from the internet. I've already created and customized the DVD how I want it, and when I generate .iso files everything works amazingly, but I'm running into issues on playback after I burn. Some files play fine, but a majority of my files are choppy and the video is falling out of sync with the audio. Here are my settings:
After doing some research, I have deduced its either one of three things:
I've installed handbrake and have tried encoding my files to MPEG2 with AC3 audio, but I'm getting some quality loss as a result. This lag/stutter isnt happening with all of my files after burning, but enough of them to the point where I wanna know how to fix the issue.
Honestly I have no idea how this stuff works, would someone be able to do an ELI5 with this stuff. Could anyone offer any help? Thanks!
+ design assets from the original album. quite proud of how this turned out!
Is it anything silly or fun or is it boring? I’m surprised no one has posted what it is yet
Thanks for all of the support on my last progress post. I’m super super proud of how these turned out! I was having some formatting issues with the labels I bought and printing correctly but I figured out sizing that worked. DVD quality is fantastic and all of the bonus/hidden content is perfectly in tact!
I've recently taken up DVD burning from .ISO files as a new passion project and purchased some Verbatim DVD-R DL discs to burn some .ISOs that sit around 8GB. The first disc I attempted to burn did not write past the opening session window, but the second disc I've attempted on is still currently burning and has been stuck on the "closing session" tab for probably an hour and a half. The disc will stop burning for a second then boot up and continue burning and I'm scared of cancelling the burn because I don't want a coaster.
I'm burning from finder on a 3x write speed (lowest I can go) and deselected "check disc content" for this attempt. Am I screwed?
closest thing I could think of is helvetica condensed bold but it doesn't look quite right to me. it's definitely some sort of condensed bold but I can't figure out what specifically. any help would be appreciated!
since the .ISOs for the webseries DVD and original Dirties DVD are available on Internet Archive, I made it my pet project this summer to make bootlegs for myself and to try and get them as close to the originals (within reason) as possible. I'm taking a few creative liberties, but this is my progress so far!
As for my sources/what I'm using:
I grabbed the dirtied time bandits slip design from the dirties facebook page, the full trapsheet was just on there in full (thank you matt) so I rescaled it.
The modern criterion cover for my webseries cover is a slight modification of u/Top_Result3287's original design but I reformatted it to fit a standard DVD case by using this textless version made by u/unclebeanbag7.
In line with the original trapsheet being on the fb page, I grabbed the other alt posters and reformatted them to fit the right resolution. I found the original design of the inside from this unboxing video from almost 10 years ago. I don't remember where I found the inside of the webseries dvd but someone uploaded it in the exact right size.
I'm using a copy of Beetlejuice as a stand-in case for now to check sizes lol
as for what I plan on using for the discs and cases, I bought a pack of six clear double-disc cases and 5 DVDR-DL blanks from Temu (bad I know) that hopefully work and get here in a few days. I'm just gonna burn from my laptop using a USB burner I have.
Idk what I'll do for the dirties labels, but I plan on buying some label stickers for the webseries DVD, as I made modern criterion parodies of the DVD labels (pictured below).
if anyone wants me to upload the HQ assets I totally can! just figured some people here might appreciate.
