Hi everyone - thanks for allowing me be apart of this community.

I was recently added as a travel companion to my friend who is a pilot using MyID travel. However, we recently learned that I cannot book any R2 Standby tickets alone - he must be on the booking with me as well. When I search for flights with myself selected only, I get no results.

Question - if I book flights for the two of us, but only show up to the airport myself and only check in myself, is this a valid workaround? Will I be able to standby alone, and receive a refund for his unused standby ticket?

We live in different cities so unfortunately if not, the flight benefits will be useless for me as we can never really fly together.

We booked plus (includes 20kg bag) but are bags are like 20.5kg ish. Is that going to be a problem?
