A realistic analysis assuming the worst case scenario. [and it's not as bad as you think].

i was analysing last years cut-offs and i noticed a weird pattern. assuming there will be no mcc/csab effect this year (worst case) just like last year's.

last year round 1--->round 2 jump was around 1787 ranks

which is hardly different from this years. which is 1580. 200 rank difference.

now the transition of 2nd to 3rd round is what changes the game.

with 2025 jump being 828 ranks. and 2026 being 397.

less than half.

now i noticed a weird pattern last year that the counselling from round 3 to round 7 had almost constant rank jumps. which were not in order like they didn't necessarily decrease with every round except last 2 rounds of 8th/9th.

the jumps in 2025 (r3-->r7) were as follows, 597, 714, 717, 675. which had an average of almost 706 rank jump per round. mind u we had a jump of 828 (r2==>r3). 706 is roughly the 85% of 828.

if we apply the same logic this year. the r2==>r3 jump of roughly 400 ranks will make an avg constant jump of 340 ranks in the next few rounds.

which means by end of round 7, minimum of 5.8k rank of General candidate will be offered a seat.

assuming there are 2-3 extra rounds an addition of 150-250 ranks is possible.

so the closing ranks for general this year will be around 6k-6.2k. lemme state again WORST case scenario. but in last years trends.

also not to mention we can be surprised that 2 more iisers close the next round and they wrap it up in 5 rounds lol that is worst case some of u might say but I'd say being overly negative is also being overly delusional.

let's assume if anything slightly better happens and the effect of mcc actually shows up in counselling ig till 7k it'll be safeee.

anyways here were my two cents and two brain cells on this matter.

how it feels watching somebody with 3 lakh rank get a private MBBS seat meanwhile you're searching for cheaper options in coaching batches at 40k rank

honesty dude why am i born like

shit category

shit state (high cutoff)

shit economic background

(enough to not be ews but not enough for private mbbs)

shit stream ( i hate pcb now)

kash wo silly mistakes na hoti

atleast ma baap toh khush hote.

dude registration for counselling was literally free, and by that time reneet results weren't out either, ofc every topper applied for counselling which didn't happen in 2025 (as the results came early so they got a clarity) doesn't mean they'll take the seats, calm down and chill.

end me cut-offs will be like or more than 2025 due to iiest and iacs intake through iat. i said what i said.
