Kahl

This specific model has been painted, stripped, and painted again. It lost a lot of fidelity but I am still pretty happy with how it turned out.

Four Warriors

I tend to paint other people's stuff and my Votann always get sidetracked. I finished four this weekend and am pretty pleased with the results.

Death Company

Here is the whole batch of Death Company I painted for my brother. There are some small mistakes that I'll attribute to painting while drinking beer but otherwise I am happy.

Exemplar Hearthkyn Warrior

I got into the hobby with the launch of Leagues of Votann (because Space Dwarves obv.) For MANY reasons, not the least of which being that I got pretty decent at painting really fast and have ended up painting more for other people than myself, my own army has taken a back seat. NOT ANYMORE. I have 2500ish points of Votann and here is my Hearthkyn Warrior exemplar I finished this morning.

I am SO PUMPED to get going building all this out.

I set up an intense backlog storage system

My brain requires structure. I made a website to handle it from a systems pov but I needed the physical organization too. Really happy with how it turned out.

I tend to forget schemes so when I need to go back to an army and paint more of them, I tend to not do them the same as earlier ones. So I am determined to journal my schemes on The Painting Ledger. While I am not an awesome painter, I think I'd like to be able to share my schemes with others, so I want the photos to be awesome. I cleaned my office and workspace and dug out my lightbox.

Looking for some insight:

  • Would love your thoughts on the photo quality here. I think they came out better than any I've taken before, so I am happy.
  • Any great resources on best practices for mini photos?
  • Who does this REALLY WELL? I'd love some reference points.
