I have a samsung note 8 running android 9.

a few weeks ago gmail began notifying me that I must uprade the OS to continue to use gmail.

now it has stopped to synchronize.

the web interface of gmail works.

I have tested:

• Using other accounts
• Opening chats with many people

Every time DM is grayed out. I don't know why. Could it be, that I never sent a direct message to anyone before? Is this some kind of verification thing I'm missing? Or is everyone blocking images in DMs by default?

is it open to us like it was before covid?
