Question for the cured

To those who tried a prescription and had all the symptoms go away... but then they all came back, what did you find out was the solution for you?

I have done 24 weeks of vision therapy, tried four different prescrptions, but only was fully cured of my symptoms temporarily on my first prescription.

To those who solved their everyday headaches and brainfog....

What solved your everyday headaches and brain fog?

My symptoms:

  1. Brain fog (which causes bad memory)
  2. Headaches (towards the center of my forehead).
  3. Short- and long-term memory difficulties.
  4. Trouble thinking of what to say next.
  5. Fatigue during eye contact.
  6. Rapid visual exhaustion (for example, after 20-30 minutes of gaming I start to notice fast visual fatigue).
  7. Very fatigued during middle of the day, more than normal. (Body is fine, but brain is fatigued).
  8. Omitting words when reading/writing.
  9. Falling asleep while reading.
  10. Clumsy.
  11. General anxiety.
  12. Driving can get tiring after about 30 minutes… however I can still drive.
  13. Always struggled a little more than usual in listening and reading comprehension.
  14. I personally have nerve damage on the left side of my face since birth. I cannot fully close my left eye and I cannot smile completely (Seventh cranial nerve damage).

My progress:

  1. MRI - Good
  2. CT - Good
  3. Lots of lab tests... - Good
  4. Allergy and Sinuses Exam - Good
  5. Exercise, diet, sleep - Good
  6. Septoplasty surgery - Fixed some breathing issues but didn't resolve any headache issues.
  7. Tried fresnels (stick on prisms), first week everything went away but then came back the second week. This made me think it was vision related. Got a change in fresnel prescription and still had symptoms.
  8. Tried neurolens and it did not help the same way the fresnels first did.
  9. Trying regular prisms right now while doing VT. They have helped by 25%.
  10. 24 Weeks of vision therapy. Helped reduce things to being 30% more normal, but hit a ceiling after some time.

Medication Tried:

  1. Claritin (Antihistamine) - Did not work.
  2. Zyrtec (Antihistamine) - Did not work.
  3. Topical Steroid Flonase (Antihistamine) - Did not work.
  4. Topamax (Migraine Medication) - Made me feel dumb, fixed the issue by 25%.
  5. Prednisone (Corticosteroids) - Resolved everything, but you can't have too much of steroids so was not a permeant solution. Made me feel borderline suicidal as I tapered off because it suppresses your entire immune system. So... did not work.
  6. Magensium Pills - Felt good after sleeping but didn't resolve issues
  7. L theanine - Didn't feel a difference.

I hit a wall... feedback would be helpful!

I was diagnosed with binocular vision dysfunction, accommodative dysfunction, suppression, and oculomotor dysfunction. My primary symptoms are brain fog, headaches, mental fatigue, poor visual endurance, and difficulty concentrating during prolonged visual tasks.

The strangest part of my case is that the first prism prescription I ever received completely resolved my symptoms for about one week. During that week I felt normal again. I could work all day, socialize comfortably, remember things more easily, and had virtually no brain fog or fatigue.

After that week, the benefits faded.

Since then I completed 24 weeks of vision therapy and estimate that my symptoms improved about 40%, but I am still far from symptom-free.

My prism history:

  • 6Δ BI Fresnel total (3Δ BI each eye) — complete symptom relief for ~1 week
  • 8Δ BI total — did not recreate the original benefit
  • 2Δ BI left eye only — worn for ~6 months
  • 4Δ BI left eye only — current prescription (1 week so far), seems to improve mental clarity by about 10%

Has anyone experienced a prism prescription that completely resolved symptoms initially and then stopped working? If so, what ended up being the explanation? Was it prism adaptation, an incorrect prism amount, accommodative issues, something neurological, or something else?

Week 24 of my VT

Hey everyone, I have been updating a reddit post with my VT progress for about 24 weeks now. If you would like to see it, see the link at the bottom of the post.

My week 24 progress is as follows. I would appreciate to hear how people's state were when they were in my position. Every bit of motivation will help me keep going!

WEEK24: Officially hit the final week of my planned VT therapy. Its easy to be pessimistic as things are still not where I would want them to be; however, I can visibly (ba dum tss) see a large improvement in how severe my symptoms get. I can actually turn on and off my left eye whenever I want now as I have gained a good level of control over my left eye suppression. My headaches and brain fog don't get as bad as they used to. What I mean by that is that my worst days now don't compasre at all to how bad it would get back then. I still get my symptoms, but at 60% of what it used to be (same as week 21). I think I need a new prescription now as my left eye has stabilized at a consistent blurriness if that makes sense... back then it would be different levels of blurry since I didn't know how to control my left eye as it was suppressed. I am hoping to continue VT, so I will keep the updates coming!

Inconsistencies with scaling

Any advice on scaling? I am following a scaling strategy of 20/20/30/20/20/30. I'll explain it briefly, if my ROAS is 1.9+ for the past 3 days (excluding today), then I increase budget by 20%, then 20% again if 1.9 is reflected again the next day, then 30%, etc....

My budget starting point has been $60 dollars a day, but everytime I increasse it the performance dwindles down A LOT (10 orders to maybe 2-3 a day), then it fixes itself. Does anyone have advice or maybe a different approach to my strategy to prevent this from happening? I attached some photos of my stats when it is good vs bad. To me it looks like meta searches more audience pockets and has bad luck almost everytime I increase budget.

5/3-5/7 is the first photo which shows good results. I start scaling on 7th and 8th. Then second photo is results from 7-9th of May.

Any advice is appreciated!

Side-by-Side Comparison

Metric May 3–5 (started scaling at 6 and 7th by 20% for each day) May 7–9
ROAS 2.38 1.03
Spend $226 $294
Purchases 17 10
CPM $19.17 $27.07
CPC $1.06 $1.57
CTR 1.80% 1.72%
LP Views 173 166
Cost / LPV $1.31 $1.77
Frequency 1.17 1.11
