My First classical concert experience

i have been listening to classical music for the last 4 years, and i had this idea that concerts are expensive and i can't offered them
but it turns out that it is less cheaper than a movie ticket which is very affordable (how dumb i am )

the program started with mendelssohn violin concerto
a young gifted girl probably less than 10 years old playing a piece that is bigger than her ,
i cried at the first bar just that feeling of music hitting ur chest is crazy and it truly very different than any speakers or headphones

it was just an insane experience that i will gladly do every week

the program included:

  • Felix Mendelssohn: Violin Concerto in E Minor, Op. 64
  • Camille Saint-Saëns: Cello Concerto No. 1 in A Minor, Op. 33
  • Serge Koussevitzky: Double Bass Concerto in F-sharp Major, Op. 3
  • Alexander Arutiunian: Trumpet Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra

I had already listened to the first two pieces many times before, so I could follow them and really enjoy the details.
But the last two were unfamiliar I honestly got lost, especially during the Double Bass concerto. I couldn’t really follow what was happening.

i come from a background where we weren't taught what is a note or chord or any music class, i have tried to teach myself some theory but still when it come to new pieces i enjoy them in the second or third replay

If anyone has tips on how to better follow new classical pieces, I’d really appreciate it.
