for those of you who majored in psychology and got your MSW in social work.. how is it now? what career are you pursuing? is there a difference in academics between psychology and social work? how are you enjoying it? let me know!
hey guys i’m a transfer student who is going in fall 2027, i have a TSP agreement with fullerton for the child and adolescent studies major with the elementary education concentration but was wondering if i can change my concentration when i get there? or am i not allowed to. i don’t want to be a teacher anymore i want to go into social work or school psychology so not sure what concentration to go for
i’m currently a community college student and i’m trying to figure out what i want to transfer for. idk if i want to major in social work then get my masters in psychology or social work, OR major in psychology then get my masters in psychology or social work. which would be more flexible job wise? i know i want to help children who are struggling mentally or emotionally, and help their families understand it and teach them how to better care for or support their child. which would i major in? what kind of job can i do in order to do what i want? HELP i apply in october and im trying to figure it all out, i know planning my masters may be too much right now but i def need to know which i should major in for more flexibility

hey guys! i am currently a community college student who’s major is elementary education — my first transfer plan being transfer to CSU Fullerton, major in child and adolescent development with a concentration in school settings, and become a teacher. however now i am really questioning the teaching route and i think i really want to go in social work, in hopes of either becoming a school social worker or working for a different establishment.
my new transfer plan is now between two things: 1. continue to transfer to CSU Fullerton, instead of having a concentration in school settings id concentrate in family and community, or 2. i transfer to UC Santa barbara and major in sociology, get my masters and LCSW, and go from there. i know — two completely different schools and environments and academics and ALL OF IT. i just really love santa barbara, but having trouble deciding which path is best for me. i have a TSP with fullerton for the CAAD major which is why that is an option, just have thought about santa barbara my entire life. help!! which path do i choose??
basically the title of the post, but got an email about the transfer prep academy, a two night three day stay at ucsb for transfer students to learn more abt the school and prep to transfer for fall 2027. i applied, still waiting to hear back, but can anyone who did it in past years tell me their experience and if it’s worth it for upcoming transfer students? thanks!

I (18F) have been dating my girlfriend (19F) since middle school when we were both 12 years old. we broke up once in high school because i had emotionally cheated on her, having a crush on someone else. we broke up for a good half a year, started talking again, became friends, and then started dating again. when we first got together in middle school, i had been going through court cases for my childhood sexual abuser, and when we got together i heavily relied on her emotionally and mentally for many things. she was all i had known, not only for happiness but also for ANYTHING relationship wise, as even now she’s been my only relationship and love. after we broke up i definitely figured out how to be on my own and not be so dependent on her, we have grown a lot over the years and are very much mature in our relationship. i love her with my entire being, and in exactly a year from now, i graduate community college and move 4 hours away to a 4 year university, and idk how to go about it. do we move in together? do i get roomates? do i get my own place? the reason i ask is because i don’t want to fall into the same cycle of dependency if not only shes all i’ve ever known, but then im also moving in with her right away after only living with my parents my entire life. we basically almost live together as we have sleepovers at each others houses literally almost every single night just once again we both live with our parents. so should i move in with her or get my own place and learn how to be an adult on my own?
