Fuck the Milio buffs, if it wasn't for him being 8-way contested every game I'd still be spamming Ez Cho in low masters.

Soft relapsed today, not proud but a good reminder.

It started with CSGO gambling when I was around 13. I somehow managed to luck my way from 13 dollars all the way up to 500 before losing it all, which utterly destroyed 13 year old me and I swore to never gamble again.

Then 6 years later, when online casinos were gaining huge popularity, I would play Blackjack and Roulette while in class, walking outside, or in my own bed just relaxing. During that time period I lost around 1k total. Again, very tough to deal with so I swore again that I would never gamble again.

Things were going well until recently, 4 years after the above section, I started playing Poker with some friends at home games every week. Really low stakes so it's all for fun, but this urged me to start playing online Poker, which has a completely different feel to it than live Poker with friends you know. It didn't feel like I was playing with skill or having fun, just gambling and praying I hit the right cards on the table. I lost 170 dollars tonight and this has confirmed for me that I simply cannot touch any form of gambling in my life ever again. The lesson I've learned is relatively cheap compared to the stories I've read on this subreddit, so I am blessed that I didn't have to learn it much later in life when I have more money to lose.

CRIT WU V3: Bangalo Edition

I said that I would make another post when I hit Masters playing Crit Wukong jungle, so here I am with my latest iteration.

Runes are the same so far, First Strike > Cash Back > Triple Tonic > Cosmic Insight . Sudden Impact > Treasure Hunter

...but items are almost completely different now: Voltaic Cyclosword > Stormrazor > LDR > Shieldbow > Flex.

As all assassin players know, Cyclosword is super overloaded this patch. 25 lethality and 9% current hp damage on proc is insane value for 1 item. Not only is it insanely good on its own, but I found its synergy with Stormrazor to be both satisfying and unexpectedly decent for mobility and damage. Stormrazor gives ad and as, two stats Wukong loves, and 45% ms for 1.5s on proc is nothing to scoff at while playing an assassin. You don't even need to be fighting to feel the impact, clear and rotation speed both significantly increase. The movement utility of Stormrazor will be underestimated by the enemy, both in and out of fights. LDR should be self explanatory, you want armor pen in an assassin/crit build, and Shieldbow is still a core item for survivability in later fights while giving a decent amount of ad.

I'm still running ghost both on bruiser and crit since it's fun being a movement king and I've found a lot of niche scenarios where ghost outperforms flash, particularly when chasing enemies down.

THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THIS BUILD is to go Mecha Kingdoms Wukong with the Sapphire Chroma! It syngerizes insanely well with ghost, blue jungle pet, and Stormrazor movespeed since it's blue. Everytime you enter a bush, ghost, or proc Stormrazor, the hoverboard also pops up so it's insane synergy.

Well I probably won't reach GM with this wonky build, but who knows. If I do, I'll make another post about what the definitive crit build I have come up for myself.

NEW CRIT TECH FOR WU JG

INTRO

I've theorycrafted and tested a new assassin build for jungle that gives both significant survivability and damage, able to one-shot all squishies and most fighters/bruisers. In another post I did say I was going to wait until I hit masters with this build before making a post about it but it seems there's been some traction in this subreddit about it so I'm trying to give it another push. My first test phase playing this build I went from E4 to D4 with ~80% winrate. Here's the full guide and breakdown on why this build works, what runes and items to go, and the general playstyle.

Credentials: I hit GM a while back playing mostly lethality Wukong running electrocute and ghost (more on that later) but I believe this crit build to be superior in every aspect and is Wukong's best assassin build period. u/BooxOD plays a variation of this build top lane and hit masters in NA with it. Current op.gg is Bangalo#333 on NA.

RUNES, ITEMS, AND THEORY

Runes: First Strike . Cash Back . Triple Tonic . Cosmic Insight -- Sudden Impact . Treasure Hunter

The reason for this page is because 1. the build is really expensive and 2. this playstyle spikes heavily for each completed item, so rushing items and generating tempo is key. Even when going completely even, you can still get 3 items easily just from efficient clearing and a couple juicy first strike procs.

Items: In my past testing, I went Green Jungle Pet . Essence Reaver . Collector . Immortal Shieldbow/Infinity Edge . Infinity Edge/Immortal Shieldbow . flex item (Death's Dance, Maw of Malmortius, Edge of Night, Guardian Angel). This allows Wukong to reach 100% crit at four items and have insane damage potential, but u/RayceOTP who tested this build in mid-masters went Trinity Force instead of Essence Reaver which, after reflecting, is most likely better than Essence Reaver since it gives similar damage, but speeds up jungle clear heavily and gives a lot of survivability.

So the current potential buildpaths are: Green Jungle Pet . Trinity Force/Essence Reaver . Collector/LDR/MR . Shieldbow/Infinity Edge . Infinity Edge/Shieldbow . flex item

Once more testing is done, I think more players will start to believe just how insane the damage is playing this build, you will be one-shotting people with just basic abilities and auto attacks, and you will be surprised at how many times you survive teamfights after diving in solo with jungle pet shield, Shieldbow, Trinity Force hp, and Wukong's passive if against heavy ad.

Boots: FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE GAME, SIT ON TIER 1 BOOTS. The reason for this is so you can spend the max amount of gold per game towards completed item spikes rather than boot effect. Boot priority looks like: Defensive Boots (Steelcaps/Treads) > CDR/Swiftness Boots. No doubt Tier 2 boots are insanely valuable for extra movespeed and effect, but I consider item spikes to be even more important. Another reason for this decision is because of the summoner spell I run: Ghost.

Why I run ghost:

  1. Shorter CD than Flash

  2. Lets Wukong rotate to objectives and ganks faster (pre-ghost before reaching destination)

  3. Lets Wukong disengage in teamfights and chase down enemies easier while abilities are on CD

  4. Lets Wukong dodge skillshots easier

You don't have to run ghost to play this build, honestly Flash is still better but I've ran ghost on Wukong jungle for 3-4 years now so I've gotten used to it. On a couple occasions I've even ghosted to my camps to begin my clear earlier in super neutral games, that's how important efficient clearing is for this playstyle, which brings me to the next section:

GENERAL PLAYSTYLE

Play this build like you are a scaling hypercarry, which means prioritize camps off cooldown and only gank if it's easy and doesn't cost much tempo. Drake, grubs, and Rift Herald fights are really good for generating tempo and First Strike procs, since this build has a lot of frontloaded damage throughout all stages of the game once you complete Sheen (yes, this build comes online at Sheen only). General counters to this build include multiple tanks and invading/early game junglers like Lee Sin and Elise, but if you can fend them off you outscale them heavily.

In teamfights you want to play like an assassin, sweeping for spots without vision and engaging from angles your enemies don't expect. Your goal is one-shotting or heavily chunking the main carry with a full combo and disengaging, you don't want to frontline with this build, you're playing like an assassin. Using W to engage can be extremely powerful if your team can follow up after your ult, but be careful since W is not only your main disengage tool, but also a crucial DPS tool since the clone can crit with autos and Q. Even if you mess up and get focused, as stated earlier, this build has a surprising amount of survivability. The combination of pet shield, Shieldbow, and Trinity Force hp is no joke, so you can survive a lot of mistakes or misplays. Wukong's durability increases even further once he gets 6th item, usually Death's Dance or Maw of Malmortius, making it even harder to kill him in fights.

Essentially, this build combines the tankiness of bruiser (to a certain degree), the damage/mobility of an assassin, and the gold income of an ADC (think back to runes).

The bread and butter combo for this build actually doesn't include ult:

E -> Auto -> QW -> Auto -> Q. That's it. With enough items this combo one-shots most squishies.

I only use ult in teamfights if I know for a fact my teammates will follow up on it and do more damage than if I were to do the BNB combo, in a lot of other scenarios I'd rather just do the one-shot combo. This also means the mechanical entry-level is not high at all, and a lot of the skill expression in this build comes from mostly macro play and positioning.

FINAL NOTES

I think I've covered most of what this build has to offer, but if I missed anything please point it out and add some more info, I'm writing this post with a headache and bad sleep.

I also stream at twitch.tv/bangalo_ and I'll be showcasing this build around next week, so you can follow for notifications or join my Discord server if you want to see someone playing this build in real-time: https://discord.gg/TzdRmEXUYR

Shoutout to u/BooxOD and u/RayceOTP for being some of the first pioneers using this build, we need more data on it so please try it out if you feel like reliving the good old assassin Wukong days pre-rework xd.
