Gun for my daughter (26)

Made a post the other day about our venture in shooting our first steel challenge match with our .22 and we definitely want to move into the centerfire stuff and probably USPSA matches. She has a CZ-P10c ported that would put her into open class and I know right now it’s not a big deal but going forward I figured I would get her something she would be in carry optics with. Went down to see what they have and the local spots and found a Walther PDP full size OR at Bomgaar’s on clearance for $379 and they have a sale that knocks another $50 off this Saturday. Originally figured I would get another CZ-p10c or f. But that seems like a smoking deal on the PDP but I’ve read a LOT about the recoil being snappy. So the people that have shot both is it too much for her to deal with and just get the CZ about ($450) is the PDP going to be okay?

Belt setup

Me and my daughter shot our first steel challenge yesterday with rimfire pistols and had a blast! So now that we know we definitely want to do it more I want to jump on over to centerfire pistols. I have a Canik rival s that I will use and I need a belt setup. It’s not something I will be able to do every weekend so I don’t need the best of the best but I’m also no afraid to buy once cry once either. So if something is head and shoulders above the rest I’m in, if there’s one that does it 90% and is half the price I’m good with that also. TIA

My new journey into 2011’s (MAC DS Comp 4.25)

Okay guys and gals lots of firsts for me on this thread. I really haven’t been into shooting lots of guns and especially pistols until recently. We bought some property that allows me to shoot more so I’ve been shooting a TX22 a bunch then I got a Canik Rival S and now a Mac ds comp. I’ve shot competitive archery for many years but with my work schedule it’s seems like I’m never off when somewhat local tournaments are going on, so I started looking into pistol shooting and there seems to be a match every weekend of some sort, so down the rabbit hole I go! Decided that if I was going to do this I really needed to learn how to work on and upgrade these pistols and the MAC seemed to be the right platform for that. It arrived Monday and I began upgrading it right away with parts that I gathered from other posts. Changed the recoil spring to a 12 pound and hammer spring to a 17 pound, Atlas tool less guide rod and new softer mag release springs, also ordered a new sear spring to tune the trigger with. I cleaned up the slide where the disconnector hangs up thanks to Vince at Capital Rifle company video he shared, and got that smoothed out. The trigger came in right at 2.5 pounds after adjustments and the extractor was too tight according to the Atlas video I watch so I adjusted it also. Polished all the trigger and slide contact points I could find and mounted a Holosun 407 comp with the EBay user xcontrol screws and hit the range! I shot around 100 rounds out of it today because I didn’t have much time and I had zero issues with it! Accuracy was also pretty good! I’ve watched lots of videos about riding the safety but man it feels awkward! Also I have a hard time keeping the grip safety depressed and getting enough finger on the trigger, seems like I can get one or the other but not both comfortably. Had my wife video the ejection pattern and it seems to be pretty good. Here’s the first 4 shots at 10 yards after getting the dot adjusted and then I finished up with a more rapid fire. Overall very impressed with the gun so far.

There is a steel challenge coming up on a couple of weeks near by and I’ve been wanting to go try it out. My question is should I take my tx22 and shoot rimfire or take my Rival and shoot center fire? (Both have optics) I don’t have a belt or anything and just the cheap holster that comes with the Rival. Also how much ammo do I need to take?

Trying to make sure these are the correct parts for the 4.25 comp. I probably don’t need the sear spring but for $7 I’m adding it just because. Is there anything else you would get right away or adjustments to the order? TIA
