Every other underground rapper who’s making super abrasive music comparable to 2slimey is at the very least writing hooks and choruses that will get stuck in peoples ears, but 2slimey unwillingness to really holds him back
Such a sick death metal album, it’s like the perfect blend of tight and untight
Bro really does not seem interested in music anymore, and his interest in streaming really doesn’t seem to fit with the HM brand
It sucks cuz he’s known Sematary for a long ass time, it’s hard to say if he’s gonna quit or what, he’s just not rly doing shit
I’m not gonna lie, I’m gonna be a bit disappointed if death grips just sort of does what they always do for this album, which I know is weird to say considering that their style is so innovative and batshit insane already,
But I would really like if they went even more experimental and off the wall, like beyond just using new instruments/lyrical themes
I just feel like at this point in their career they’re so famous and (probably) rich, and it’s been so long since the last album I would be disappointed if they don’t change things up in some major way
Ways they could majorly change things up that I think would be dope:
Have a purely punk song, similar to black paint or on gp but without ANY samples or weird structure, just a straight up punk song inspired by black flag/minor threat
Have a song where ride does some weird ass extremely strained, high screaming technique throughout the whole song
Reference extremely modern pop culture things, like ChatGPT, instagram reels, etc. I know they referenced wikileaks in the money store but something even crazier would be sweet
Make song talking retrospectively about death grips old music, similar to how Mac miller talks about his drug addiction near the end of his life
More screams like “disappointed” that are just totally vulnerable, insane and raw
