Experiences being a very short woman and hauling two kids on an ebike?

We are looking at getting a cargo e-bike as a “second car” for getting the kids back and forth from school and preschool. I am very short — 4’11” or 150cm — and am a bit concerned about being able to handle the weight of the bike+kids. Like, am I going to get knocked over by this thing? Are the three of us going to fall over in traffic? I’m a pretty confident city bike rider on my own (very light) analog bike but the thought of hauling them around makes me nervous. But the convenience would seriously be huge because the kids’ schools are in different directions and it’s a lot of waiting around for buses.

I would love to hear about others’ experiences as short women carrying heavy cargo loads!

ETA the trike idea is interesting but probably not possible. City living with a very tight garage. Unless I could find something that folds or collapses a bit.

Ping ponging between fullness and hunger

I'm on my second week of compounded tirzepatide. The first week I took a half dose (1.25), mostly because I was feeling a lot of anxiety about injecting myself with something I bought off the internet. Since I survived, I increased my dose the following week (this past Sunday) to the prescribed 2.5.

It's not exactly going as I expected. I will say for context that before starting this medicine, I wasn't someone who was experiencing food noise, at least not for many years. Before tirz, I was able to eat meals until satiety, push food aside, and be done and not think about eating again until I was hungry or it was meal time. I also have normal labs. (But I am fat/nearly >!'obese'!<).

I am not experiencing a general, predictable reduction of appetite. Instead, I am ping ponging all the time between hunger and fullness. Like, I'll be eating dinner and then feel very full after a certain amount of food and then stop, but then maybe 5 minutes later feel those hunger pangs again and eat more, and then rinse and repeat several times.

I feel like this pattern happens between meals as well, particularly in the afternoon. It feels like I'm constantly bouncing between feelings of at least somewhat uncomfortable physical fullness and hunger. I ended up nursing a smoothie for like two hours this afternoon because of this.

I'm kind of not loving this because it's bringing out some old thinking from my ED days. Questions like, Am I really hungry? Or, if I do feel hungry, should I eat any more (because what if I feel stuffed and uncomfortable in another few minutes?) Whereas I'd sort of become pretty intuitive about eating prior to tirz.

Just curious if anyone else has experienced something like this? Is this just happening because I'm still in the early days? Are there ways to improve this?

Supplies to have on hand when starting?

You all were so helpful with my last question so I am back with more!

I will be doing my first shot today or tomorrow. What are good things to have on hand when starting? I know I need a sharps container and alcohol wipes (I’ll be using a vial). Any other items? Particular foods or drinks in case I’m bothered by side effects (or to help prevent side effects)?

Thanks all.

Dosing question

I’m getting my first order of glp1 delivered tomorrow. I’ve seen some posts on this sub that makes it sound like dosing is not straightforward — do the instructions that come with the medication not tell me how much to give myself? It sounds like I need to use a calculator to figure out how much to use?

Newbie - what should I expect hangryness-wise?

Hi all, long time lurker first time poster. My first order of glp’s is in the mail and I’m feeling nervous but curious about how these meds will change things in my life.

One thing I’m nervous about is mood impacts. Whenever I am not able to eat a snack or meal in time to prevent hunger I can def get hangry. Are glp’s going to leave me constantly hangry because of the reduced intake? Or are they so magical that the hunger won’t affect my mood in the same way? I would greatly value insight on others’ experiences.

ETA: wow so many helpful answers everyone! Thank you. I’ll definitely be careful to stay on top of eating regularly.
