This is just a few weeks old… I used some LC and it was slow to take off, but wow look at it now.
Please suggest a substrate recipe… I have horse poo, coir, verm, gypsum, all the typical stuff.
Do I sterilize or pasteurize? I have access to a very accurate oven that will go up to 160F.
Here’s what I came up with to support a moss pole and keep the whole thing from tipping over.
I just got a sterilite 54-qt tub and was wondering the best way to poke some holes in it for ochras.
General rule of thumb is 2x holes on each side for cubes… do I go with 3x on each side because of higher FAE requirements?
Do I ditch the gasket?
Planning on using 2” holes with filter patches.
What do the guru’s say?
I’ve been running LC for a while now and got tired of throwing away the syringes and needles. I found this stainless “dish rack” on the ‘Bay for like 6 bucks. The sterilization pouches fit perfectly…

After it cools down and you can safely open the lid, leave the lid cracked open about an inch until fully cooled. This way, the moisture evaporates off the pouches and they come out dry.
Anyone add a true (ph adjusted, peat/verm) casing after the first flush to improve surface conditions?
I did not case initially and had a pretty thick overlay that the first flush had to bust through….
