Roast chicken with citrus, pears, and figs
I love making variations of roasted chicken, and this is probably the best one I’ve ever cooked. The flavors were incredible. I followed the recipe to a T. Five stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I finished Blacktail by Scott Hawkins (author of The Library at Mt. Char) last week and can’t stop thinking about it.
The story follows a wolf named Blacktail, and his search for the Forest God to avenge the death of his mate & puppies at the hands of two-legs (aka humans). He meets many colorful characters along the way, most of whom are also animals.
The prose is incredible and I was deeply emotionally affected. I cried a few times, was horrified, had my mind blown, and also laughed out loud more times than I can count. The book is surprisingly funny.
It’s like if Redwall/Watership Down characters went on a bloody Hero’s Journey, with a heavy touch of Lovecraftian cosmic horror. I’ve never read anything like Blacktail.
Anyway, I truly love this book, it’s made its way into my top 5. I’d love to hear from others who read it!
I just finished Sagebrush Baby and I RUSHED to this sub to recommend it. The book was self-published last year on Kindle Unlimited, and I searched here to see if there was much discussion around it and there’s not.
Y’all. This book BLEW my mind. It’s got everything I want in weird girl contemporary lit: unhinged FMC, deeply questionable choices, manipulation, social media, fucked up supporting characters, dark turns.
It’s written really sharply, and is quite funny at times. It’s not a comedy book by any means, but there were a few moments I LOL’d.
I believe it’s only on KU, but it would be worth doing a free trial of it just to read Sagebrush Baby. Five star read for me! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you like Yesteryear, A Good Person, Just Watch Me, Julie Chan is Dead, Best Offer Wins, or Yellowface, you might like this!
Trigger warning: >!child abuse & death. It fucked me up as a mom, myself, but that’s what makes it so powerful.!<
I usually just get library ebooks from Libby, but it felt satisfying to find so many physical copies of books on my list!
I borrowed: Just Watch Me, Molka, Lost Lambs, Bog Queen, Honeysuckle, and Superfan.
Best Offer Wins by Marisa Kashino
It’s a short book (under 300 pages), but I blew through it in 24 hours. The main character is totally unhinged and will stop at nothing to achieve her dream. Highly recommend this fast, fun thriller.
I don’t know who Jenny Mollen Biggs is. She seems to be a low-level Facebook influencer and she popped up in my feed. The photos are… slightly questionable. I certainly wouldn’t post them on the internet. But paired with the caption, it’s disgusting. And before anyone comes for me, I’m a “boy mom” with 3 sons.
I love/hate this sub, because every time I see a post, another book gets added to my TBR list. These are all books recommended by people here! Which one should I read first?!
