AITAH for not paying for my soda?
So, I 22 M have been stopping at this 7/11 in town to refill my water bottle and to get a few snacks for my night shift job and I never have been charged for the refills I get, well tonight was different whenever I went up to the counter to pay I had set everything including my water bottle. The guy who is also male and maybe a few years older then me looked at me with real attitude in his eyes and asked me if I’ve been lying to him. I was confused and took out my AirPods and asked ‘sorry?’ He then said I was lying to him and that I’ve been getting soda every night and not paying for them. This really threw me off and kind of offended me. I never had lied to this guy typically nights in town their is little to know one in store and the soda machine is right next to the counter so he’d have to purposefully ignore me getting a drink all these nights and is now calling me out on it. So he repeated himself again and asked me what I had in my water bottle and I told him soda and then I said sometimes I just get ice (we have a water dispenser at work) he then proceeded to call me a liar and rung me up and then make a phone call right after I was walking away. Now this guy always acts nonchalant and acts like he never wants to be there so for him to suddenly give me such ‘care’ and attitude about this blows my mind. Every other person who works there always asks me if I got a drink in my water bottle which i always tell them I do. Which I then get charged for he has never asked me and the times I did tell him I got a drink I was waved off and was told to not worry about it. I’m not sure if I should confront him the next time I go into work about his comment on me being a ‘liar’ when he doesn’t even interact with me besides the occasional ‘be safe out there’. AITAH for not paying for my soda refill?
