How to get constant weather updates for long distance travel?

Hi all, this will be my first long distance drive with a Prius 2011 and I was wondering if anyone has suggestion for how to stay constantly updated with the weather? Safety is priority and heading into a city in 8 hours time is one thing but inclement weather breaking up the journey is another. It would be very helpful if there is a radio station that I can simply tune in.

For worse case scenario, and facing with sudden incessant rain or gusting winds, is there anything you do to ride it out?

Also, my trip is in 2 days time. So if purchase is recommended, I can buy something in next 2 days so it has to be available in Walmart or Autozone.

Romance in public

At home romance is usually very difficult because of the effort it takes to create that environment esp when children are involved. Alternatively, in a picnic or a party, it is usually practical as there are small opportunities under the sky. How do practicing Muslims make it work? My spouse is very shy when it comes to sharing words or even holding hands in public, forget about anything else.

International students during 2008 US recession

I am curious what was it like being an international student in the US when the US recession hit full fling. Did it affect you? If so, how? Can you narrate the chronology of events that occurred in your life as things unfolded? If you were a Masters or PhD student, how did it affect you, your peers and working in the lab? Also looking back over the last 15 years, did it affect the scientific/research community/industry in a major way as COVID19 did? People usually talk about the big things like housing, layoffs, etc. I am curious about how it affected those who went to US in pursuit of education but faced with a once in a lifetime crisis.

Dimmed low beams

It is a Prius 2011 model. My driver-side low beam headlight keeps dimming. I got a "fix it" traffic ticket one day because it dimmed while driving. I fixed it next day, and this happened once again in the same week. It appears that it comes loose everytime there is a shake/pothole or something. My car passed the state inspection 3 weeks ago. And this wasn't an issue then.

I am a 1yo new driver and like to do things myself except tire stuffs. Can anyone share what I can do before eventually handing it over to mechanic to inspect? Appreciate your time to help me fix it 🧩

In US why is it normalized that people can go to attend to their fixing stuffs or buy donut or coffee, while their car is parked at the pump with the pump handle in the car? Couple days ago, I had to wait up to 20 minutes for the guy in front of me to come back from inside while he had the car parked at the pump with the handle in the car gas compartment. And when he did come back I told him so, and he started swearing at me saying "go back to your country where you come from" among hundreds of profanities and screaming like a child.

How do you handle such a situation and more importantly, what do you do when you are stuck bumper to bumper in the pump station with no way of moving out and see this kind of thing happening. I have been driving for ~ 1 year now, so any experiences will be helpful.
