Skin problems with vitamin D deficiency - what has helped you?

Hi, I was diagnosed with a vitamin D deficiency a couple months ago by my primary care physician. My level was 8.8ng/mL and I was prescribed 50,000 iu of D2 weekly. I’m taking a 2,000 iu daily D3 supplement after posting here in addition to the D2.

I have been experiencing really bad skin problems - rashes, bumps, dry scaly skin, very slow healing, and psoriasis on my scalp for over a year that i initially thought was a stress reaction to my husband’s death but now that I’m aware of the vitamin D deficiency, it makes a lot more sense.

I have not had the psoriasis flare up since the beginning of when I started taking vitamin D, but I have not noticed an improvement in my skin condition. It is still very dry and scaly, and any scabs from a cut or scratch seem to take an eternity to heal.

I have been to the doctor recently and my immune system isn’t compromised and I don’t have any major health problems.

Has anyone else dealt with skin problems? What have you used (other than taking vitamin D) to help repair your skin? I’m incredibly self conscious about it.

Vitamin D was 8.8 Ng/mL and I’ve been taking D2 for 6 weeks but I don’t feel better at all. When should I get my levels checked and should I also be taking D3?

I had no idea that vitamin D deficiency could make you sick or what was wrong with me until I finally managed to go to the doctor a couple months ago and apparently I have a very serious vitamin D deficiency. I have been taking 50,000 units of D2 weekly as prescribed for 6 weeks but I don’t feel better. It has mainly manifested in my already sensitive skin- psoriasis on my scalp and face, itching, rashes, scabs that don’t heal. I’m miserable. I have a really hard time getting light because I’m so self conscious about my skin now.

What do I do? Any advice welcome. Should I be getting retested yet?

Seven sudden onset headaches in last two years causing temporary blindness and loss of conciseness

Late 30’s, female, white, 5’4”, 130lbs, history of childhood TBI and chronic neck pain and headaches (long duration headaches)

I’ve had seven really scary episodes in the last two years (sporadically) where I’ve had very sudden onset headaches. It’s the same every time.

The first time it felt like someone was pulling my mask tighter and tighter on my face, I thought someone was attacking me.

It’s a sudden sharp pain behind my right eye, the worst possible pain. I thought I was having a stroke first time.

Black fat squiggles start coming into my field of vision from the peripheral in both directions and I lose vision completely. It’s the worst pain I’ve ever experienced. The whole thing lasts maybe 45 minutes but I feel horrible and exhausted afterwards.

The last two times I’ve lost consciousness, at one point I had been driving and barely was able to pull over. I could hear my phone ringing and wanted to answer it but couldn’t see or move or speak.

It happens really fast. How worried should I be? It has been spaced out quite a lot.

What happened to HEAL?

Does anyone know what happened to HEAL online? It used to be a watchdog group and was the source of a lot of documents that now seem to have been wiped from the internet.

At first it seemed like it had been purchased by some kind of (possibly LDS or LDS adjacent) group. Now it’s something else entirely, but everything seems to have been wiped.

It’s a big hit if the documentation they had been collecting is all gone. Does anyone know what happened?
