Drawing her clothes took 10 years from my life

In my previous post about watching s1 for the first time, I mentioned how I usually watch something while drawing. Well... about that, s2 was so good, it had my undivided attention, and I kept binge-watching to the point of ruining my sleep schedule, having extremely vivid zombie-related nightmares, and forgetting how I used to draw.

I am now at season 6. Daryl is still my favorite. Here's a WIP that I had to force myself to make. It looks odd, but something is better than nothing.

I mostly collect dolls and figurines, BUT because I loved LADS so much, I got myself some silly noodles and plushies, even though they don't fit the aesthetic. The contrast between my LADS merch and the rest of my collection always got a chuckle out of me.

After the Valko situation, not anymore. As dramatic as it sounds, it feels like looking at something left behind by someone who is no more. I will be putting them away, it's too heartbreaking to look at.

Even though they no longer brings me joy, I hope that someone else is able to laugh at the absurdity of a noodle having a diva off.

I'M BACK!!!!!!

I was so mesmerized by the pilot that I really want to draw the crawling zombie from the first episode. I'm still impressed by the amount of effort it would have taken to make so many extras look like they were rotting.

I was in the middle of drawing this when I started watching the show, the rotting flesh was inspired by the zombies in TWD.

My thoughts are all over the place. On one hand, I'm super happy I decided to watch it; on the other hand, I'm utterly devastated that I wasn't old enough to be part of the fandom when the show was airing. I can only imagine how fun it must have been. I'm a bit surprised that I've never heard or seen anything about the show outside that one meme of Rick yelling at the kid (?).

Now that I'm done with season 1, here's how I felt. I did not like Shane (as a person) from the get-go. He was saying some pretty misogynistic stuff about women to Rick. I assumed it was because he was a misogynist, but he was making moves on Lori, which makes me think he was trying to drive a wedge between the two so that he could swoop in. He's needy, clingy, can't handle a no, has no self-control, and lashes out at random people, but he gets shit done. Despite his numerous flaws, he has this detached mentality (loose morals) about most things, which makes him a good survivalist.

My favourite character has to be Daryl. He seems to mean well (I PRAY I am not proven wrong), despite his brother being a bigot. He's one of the few people with actually contributing survival skills. I liked him the minute I saw the crossbow, he was lucky to have that when the outbreak started. It is an S-tier artifact in a zombie apocalypse. He is funny too.

I think I'll be able to breeze through the seasons given the first had 9 episodes. I'm equal parts sad and happy about it. Anywho, I'm very excited to make drawings for a seemingly dead fandom 😭

Last month I finally decided to treat myself to a Monster High doll, because I absolutely loved them as a kid. I was a little gutted when I found out that the version I grew up with (G1) was no longer in production. And even more heartbroken when I discovered that Mattel had made Creeproductions not that long ago and I'd just missed it. But, I somehow managed to get one thanks to a friend.

I tried to do her hair. Clearly wasn't very successful so I gave her my accessories to make up for it.

I'm currently waiting for my G3 clawdeen I ordered >_<
