Someone ordered 22 Khunafa Choco Cookie Cups for their 22nd Bday! (Oh!shi Bites)

Reposting, because the previous post was deleted, because I added an 'external link' in the post body 😭

My mom, who primarily bakes and sells non-refined biscuits, cakes and buns, recently launched her chocolates, one of them being Cookie Choco Cups with different fillings. Whenever we launch something new, we give out samples nearby to get honest feedback and improve accordingly.

This time again we did the same, we sent out our chocolate samples, which also contained these Pista/Khunafa Choco Cookie Cups. One of the aunt's daughter liked this one so much that they placed an order of 22 pieces for our Khunafa Cups for her 22nd Birthday (18th Aug)! She definitely likes khunafa, and maybe because we make our own pistachio paste, it could have added a rich taste and freshness to it.

Maybe I will do the same for my next birthday (benefit of having a baker mom 😏)!

These were actually launched for Raksha Bandhan Hampers in combos, but we definitely won't mind catering to special occasions.

If you are interested to order anything from my mom's bakery - Ohishibites, you may dm me or message/call her at +91 9717755446.

Made 22 No-Refined Cookie Cups for someone's 22nd Bday

My mom just made 22 whole wheat Khunafa Choco Cookie Cups for someone's 22nd Birthday, and they turned out delicious. The chocolate used is coverture and not compound, and the Pista paste for the khunafa filling, also homemade.

Have you ever tried Millet Chocolates? My mom just launched them (based in Delhi)

Have you ever tried Millet Chocolates? Oh!shi Bites just launched them!

My mom loves baking sweets, but this time she made chocolates, this one using millets! She had been experimenting with making chocolates since last year, and this time she thinks that she got it right.

She has already made Raggi/Jwar halwa or barfi, but she really wanted to see if she could somehow include it in a chocolate version. These millet chocolates do not taste like your regular ones, it has a bit of a fudgy texture because of the Raggi/Jwar flour and no "compound chocolate" has been used, only **real/coverture chocolate.** For the crunch, we have added nuts and **millet puffs!** (Yes even the puffs are millet based, Jwar & Bajra Puffs).

Chocolates in the images:

  1. Ragi Millet Chocolate

  2. Jwar Millet Chocolate

  3. Combo Pack of Both

I think they have come together really well, but would you give this a try?

We have also launched some other really interesting chocolates like Cookie Cup Chocolates and Truffles, which I will be posting about here soon.

We also have special Rakhi Hamper combos which are customizable. If you are interested, kindly dm to know more.

Honest Reviews (Reddit Orders) - Oh!shi Bites

17 days ago, I had made a post about my mom's healthier home bakery: Oh!shi Bites, and 7 of you, all from different states, decided to place an order with us! It was the first time my mom actually felt happy about doing what she does, because it was the 1st time she was receiving orders from people outside her known circle, outside her friends and family. She felt even happier when some of you genuinely liked her baked goods.

This was our first mass order, so we did end up making some mistakes, like someone received a really hard batch of the Coconut Delight cookies, someone's Cinnamon roll's spread got stuck on the top of the box lid, and someone receives crushed cookies. But we did our best to compensate for our mistakes by refunding or sending over a fresh batch of the wrongly baked goods. And of course, we will improve our overall packaging and keep improving based on your feedbacks.

Thank you redditors, both who trusted us with their first orders from us and those who showed interest and engaged with that post, it means a lot. ❀️

Ps: We will soon be launching Rakhi gift hampers (which will also include a variety homemade chocolates πŸ˜‹). Stay tuned!

My mom's healthy home bakery - Oh!shi Bites!

Hi guys πŸ‘‹

So my mom is a N2 level Japanese Linguist (self taught πŸ‘€) and I thought that she would continue to be a Japanese linguist teacher, but she chose bakery instead!

I was pushing her to make engaging japanese edu reel content, but she was making new recipies instead...and was really happy doing so. And on her 25th aniversary this year, she launched her small home bakery called Oh!shi Bites (pronounced as Ohishi Bites and 'Oishi' meaning 'delicious' in Japanese πŸ™ƒ).

The main focus of our baked goods is to replace refined and chemicalized with unrefined and healthier ingredients.

Therefore, our baked goods contain whole wheat/ millets like jwar, bajra, desi ghee/cold pressed oils, khand/brown sugar/jaggery in the right amount and no eggs at all. And still, everything is Oh!shi (delicious)!

We are based in Delhi.

To view our full catalogue and if you are interested, dm for details.

We will soon be launching Rakhi hampers (includes homemade chocolate too πŸ‘€), so if interested, let us know!

Edit: Yes, we ship Pan India.

Best Packaging for Cookies/Biscuits?

Hey bakery owners/home bakers!

From your experience of selling cookies/biscuits, which type of primary packaging would you recommend to use, which ensures the cookies are air tight, don't break much during shipping, are economical and also look presentable enough? (PS. Our cookies/biscuits are small in size)

Currently we are using Kraft Paper Zip Lock Bags for our primary packaging (refer last image), few people complained of cookie breakage when holding the packet a little firmly and also when taking them out of the bag. Therefore, looking for a switch in primary packaging for our cookies.

Also if possible, could you share the contacts of wholesale sellers for such packaging?

Deciding packaging for small sized cookies/biscuits

Hi bakery owners/home bakers!
I just wanted to know about what kind of primary packaging do you use for your cookies/biscuits (the small sized cookies, as shown in above pics), to keep them airtight, especially in this monsoon weather, be cost effective and also make sure that the cookies reach mostly unbroken to the customer living in another city?

We currently use Kraft Paper Zip Lock Bags (see last image) as the primary packaging, but 2 customers have complained about breakage of some cookies when receiving it, and also expressed difficulty in taking them out of the bag. One more thing is that these bags containing cookies with Nan-Katai like texture, if you hold the bag firmly, the cookies tend to break inside. So what would be a better and more suitable primary packaging option, which has to be airtight off-course?

No pollens in my Rose Plant?

This june I got my first rose blooms and till now, 3 roses have bloomed. But one thing I noticed in all of them was that, none of them produced pollen. And I noticed this because I wanted to hand pollinate the roses to later on get seeds. What could be the reason and has anyone else faced the same or similar issue?

I don't know the exact variety, but the local vender told me its Kashmiri Rose.

My first ever Rose bloom!

My first rose bloom with 3 more buds on the way!

My 1st rose plant (bought in Feb) was a double delight, and even after trying my absolute best, it died (April end). But I did not want to give up, so I bought another rose plant which is this one (Kashmiri Rose) in April itself and here we are! While it is a smaller bloom as compared to the ones I saw when buying (see last pic), but its very healthy and pretty...and without usage of any chemical based fertilizers!

Tried Stevia or Monk Fruit Sweetener in baking?

Does anyone here has experience with using stevia or monk fruit sweeteners as sugar/jaggery/khand alternative? One of our customers is asking for it due to health reasons, and we don't want to say no.

Most of the famous/widely available brands that I have come across have erythritol as the main ingredient and stevia or monk fruit usage is very less, so no point in using them.

Injiya and So Sweet are 2 seemingly good brands for stevia sweetener...has anyone used them?
