How Roger Clark created the character of Arthur Morgan

I sat down with actor Roger Clark and asked him about his process for creating Arthur.

I’m conscious of self-promo, so hopefully it’s just ok to say - search for Project Possible on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts if you’d like to watch or listen to the full conversation 🙏

“RDR2 fans are the best in the world” - Roger Clark

I was fortunate enough to interview Roger Clark for my podcast Project Possible.

We talk about his life and career. The years of struggle before his secret audition with Rockstar, losing his mum at 15, creating Arthur over five years, performance capture, and why the character still means so much to people nearly eight years later.

This one is personal, too. My last ever time with my brother Jordan was playing Red Dead 2 O, just 36 hours before he took his own life.

Afterwards, I disappeared back into that world. It’s the only game I’ve ever 100%d.

There were days and weeks where I was more Arthur Morgan than myself - and I was grateful I got the chance to talk to Roger about the difference he'd made - to me, and to so many others.

I know this sub doesn’t allow links, but if you’d like to listen or watch, search for Project Possible wherever you get your podcasts.

RDR2 was the last game I ever played with my brother before his suicide. I got the chance to tell Roger Clark in this interview.

I got the chance to interview the incredible Roger Clark for my podcast Project Possible (which actually charted at the highest it’s ever charted this last week, at #31 on Apple’s charts!).

My youngest brother Jordan, aged just 27, took his life last year. With our dad in and out of prison, and me being 9 years older, I tried my best to step up. To show him what being good man was, without ever having been shown. His suicide note to me was titled: ‘to the father I never had’.

The last time we ever spent together was playing Red Dead 2 online, around 36 hours before he took his own life.

Afterwards I disappeared back into RDR2 and eventually 100%-ed it. Looking back, I think part of me was trying to stay somewhere that still felt connected to him.

I told Roger that during our conversation, and this was his response.

Our full conversation - about this and so much more - releases on Monday across Spotify, YouTube, Apple Podcasts and more, but I thought this community might appreciate this bit in particular.

Subscribe here and Roger’s brilliant episode will drop into your inbox come Monday.

My interview with DJ Yoda

“Why being a nerd is a superpower”

13 year old me listening to How to Cut and Paste vol 1 while driving around on GTA3 would never believe I’d sit down with the one, the only: DJ Yoda (he hates the name, by the way).

From hanging out with Gang Starr’s Guru at 14 years old to how he’s stayed on the top of his game for 30 years by never chasing trends, this was a joy for me, and I hope viewers and listeners will enjoy it too.

It’s on Apple and Spotify etc also.

If you enjoy this - especially the hip hop history side, you might also enjoy my recent chat with The D.O.C
