Gifting old fi collars vs new sign up

I have to fi 3 collars after upgrading my dogs to 3+

My sister has a skittish dog that has run off 2x now.

Is it worth it to gift them to her or just advise her to sign up and get a new 3+?

I ask because she has to pay $99 for 6 months of service regardless but it she goes straight to fi she will pay the same to get new hardware for free.

I would really like to gift these and introduce someone to this service but it would not be in their best Interest and it appears these are now e-waste.

Am I missing something?

XK03 Ergonomic Review

I won't make it long. I debated several folding keyboards but really wanted something ergonomic. At my desktop I use a logitech K860 ergonomic keyboard and love it. Once you go ergo, you don't go back.

I needed a keyboard for on the go and fell in love with this one. So much, that I often use it at my desktop for how small and light it is as my logi is very big and sometimes I just want a clean space while I am thinking and creating.

Design:

- SUPER THIN

- SUPER LIGHT

- Similar ergonomic curve to my logi keyboard

- Function keys are logical and well placed

- Leather texture feels premium

Functionality:

- No custom software, but can use Microsoft PowerToys

- Super easy to use, pair, switch devices

- Charge lasts long (haven't charged since I got it)

Keys:

- Great depth, joy to type with, same depth as logi desktop

- Keys not silent but not obnoxious. Please sound to me.

- Key spacing almost identical to my full sized logi

Jsaux Modcase Review

Short and sweet points - Feel free to ask if there is anything you want to know or have me test.

I am not a case guy. Don't rock one on any devices I own as I like the naked feel of these premium devices, but this devices has a little extra weight to it and I was having to be extra careful setting it down as it lands hard. It is also a little slippery when I place it down, even on the couch. So I wanted to try something so I could use it without having to think as much.

Had my eye on killswitch, but heard the weight and grip texture were not ideal. The front cover could be difficult as well as putting it on and off.

  • Barely notice added weight - I heard that was a complaint of killswitch and why I was hesitant.
  • Thought the modular accessory on back was gimmicky, turns out I love it.
  • Grips feel great! I have larger hands and it makes it that much more comfortable for me, but I don't expect it will impede on smaller hands
  • Cut outs are perfect
  • 90 degree cables work perfect on case - but with cover on they do not work as well and require some firmness when putting in (I won't use that often)
  • Likely won't fit into most docks.
  • One of my favorite features is that with the front cover on it leaves the exhaust partially open so if it happened to kick on it is less likely to overheat
  • It was not difficult at all to put on. Took me seconds. Haven't tried to taking it off.
  • Feels great even when my hands get sweaty in intense gaming moments
  • Modular attachment for battery was tested and works perfectly. Based on weight distribution I barely noticed the 10k mah battery pack on it. Going to be great for flights
  • Fingerprint reader has had no issues. New feeling with the cutout, but have had no changes to recognition
  • I also have a tomtoc case and it still fits perfectly in there (without front cover) if I ever wanted that extra drop protection - even with the modular kickstand attached
    • I also tried it with front cover and it did fit, tightly but it did fit.

In summary, while there will of course be some added weight, if you are looking for a case option, at $35 USD you get the case and cover which is about half the price of killswitch and I think it is just as good, if not more refined, with more features like the modular attachments (you get both of those in the box too!). Unless you have very small hands, I do not think it is likely you will regret it.

Naked, carry case, or jsaux/killswitch? What do you choose and why?

What do you choose and why?

I have a tom toc and love it. Ordered jsaux for extra protection around the house because she's expensive.

Not sure if I will like the extra weight but will share what my final choice to help others after some testing.

I have seen many posts and comments requesting ford fix the problem of switching in and out of carplay always defaulting to launching you into the phone app.

Well I just realized it is not a bug. Its a feature and we have been using it wrong.

- That button on the bottom is specifically for the phone app.

- When not in carplay but you want to go to carplay there is a small carplay icon on the top left of the screen. That will launch you directly into the standard carplay interface or where you left off.

This post is for those who were confused or using it incorrectly. If you knew long ago, congrats! I am jealous of the good time you have been having.
