What's something your colleague did on a shift that really pissed you off?

Okay so I have had this happen few weeks ago and it really made me mad

We've had a HUGE flood at one of the buildings we patrol at the main floor. I'm talking almost ankle level depth of water. My socks were soaking when I stepped inside the building to check it out. Something broke inside the sprinkler room which is why it happened. Long story short contractors screwed up (that's another story itself), water was shut off from the city and fire panel taken offline

The company sent out an additional patrol guard to do the fire watches. They sent out this old dude on this specific day when I got mad at him. Probably in his 60s or 70s, he was very unaware of himself and his belongings. He kept his phone on the desk while on patrols and it would keep ringing all the time. Should've known that was the beginning of it. Me being on dispatch duties, I wanted to rip my ears out

Anyway he completely half-assed the fire watches, never checked the penthouse mechanical rooms and did only like 5 of them in his 12hrs shift. We said nothing but eventually had to because he apparently "lost" the key that we signed out. "Lost" because we had a tracker on the key and tracked it down to where he lives. He denied confidently that he never received a key but the logs say otherwise and my other colleague is adamant that he handed him a key

Turns out the key was with him the entire time and he never used it and took it home instead of returning it. The client, after hearing all this (we emailed them regarding this) urged my manager to have it returned to the site ASAP. My manager had to personally go over to where the guy lives and get the key back from him. Safe to say this guy is never coming here probably

Why are some of us like this?

What sounds do you want your EV to mimick?

I want mine to mimick fart sounds which get louder as it accelerates. The 3am civic bros will have some competition 🔥

Colleague completely oblivious to what's going on at the site

I got sent out temporarily to this data center to a nearby town roughly an hr commute away. There's chances I might get a permanent placement here, too early to tell but the offer is there

Got familiar with the security folks working their, you know patrol officers and dispatchers. Well turns out one of the patrol officers are completely unaware of what's going on at the site. Like he doesn't know who's gonna come in the next morning. I'm talking contractors, cleaners or employees. Nothing. They all have access to emails and a portal where they can easily find that information for easier signing out people

Here's the problem. He can't find the link to that portal as it's buried under emails. Fair enough, could've asked other coworkers for help. Nope. Complete silence. All he know is patrols. To top it off, this person is terrible with computers. I've talked about this to other security folks in the team on how they deal with it. They said that they send this person out to do most of the patrols when they are tired. This place is quite huge. We gotta patrol 5 buildings. Each of them spaced out pretty far and 6 storeys on average. It gets pretty rough outside during a winter blizzard. Also may God be with you if the elevator goes out. Climbing 6 floors with high stairs sucks. I had cramp on my legs

Something tells me this coworker gets taken advantage of at this place. How would you deal with this? I'm kind of in the middle of feeling mad and sympathetic for this person. So I don't know how to feel about this

Hey guys!

This week has been kinda stressful to me due to stuff at work and my personal life. I'm feeling mentally drained due to all of this. I'm planning to get some snacks and run a movie on my phone while parked somewhere. Do you guys have any suggestions? I don't want to pay for parking or cause any parking violations. My safety is also a top priority

Any suggestions are welcome. Have a wonderful evening!!
